They are not the Muslims who are whipping things up again It are the fanatics who do those things. Do not judge the whole bunch for this.Do not generalize.

We ought to realise by now that Muslims are very sensitive about things like the name of their prophet, even if we aren't. They are very sensitive about a lot of things, so it's easy to inflame them, but what's the point?

I honestly think that teacher (who was responsible because she was in charge of the proceedings) ought to have known better in a moslim country and just found another name, for the sake of peace and quiet.

We Christians, too, are sensitive (would you believe it?) about the names that we hold dear - of Jesus and people taking God's name in vain - but sadly nobody takes any notice of our feelings nowadays. Just try to understand how it feels like to have someone name a teddy bear Jesus - a bit disrespectful, don't you think? Or do atheists/agnostics think it's okay to treat the feelings of people of other faiths with disrespect?

Actually, I think the real issue here is the blasthemy laws and religious courts. They really don't help muslims to calm down. The christian west had these things a few hundred years ago and it did us no good, either. We (well Catholics, actually) used to burn people at the stake and condemn them before religious courts and publicly humiliate them and - apart from the fact that they usually chose the wrong people to do it to - even if a person is guilty of such 'crimes against God', etc., why confirm him in his emnity, and why send him to hell before his time?

I think the law of God's grace and love is greater, in these cases, than the law of justice and revenge. We owe it to one another to behave lovingly - to believer and unbeliever alike - and extend a little more toleration (though we may reprove them) by not taking everything to law.

No they aren't. It is simply an insult and unfortunately she was not aware of the cultural laws. Another point is that the children named the teddy bear.

I feel sorry for her, I really do.

Muslims are definately one of the three most obediating followers of thier beliefs.
