False. And a ridiculous argument as well.
Evolution is a scientific theory. Nothing more. It does not tell us how we should live our lives.
The simple fact that there are many people who believe God used evolution to create us is proof that evolution is NOT a religion.
This is just an example of petty christians creating a straw man to attack a fact that they can't and won't accept because it conflicts with their blindly accepted dogma.
Evolution does not answer my prayers or instruct me how to make choices. Evolution does not tell us to do whatever we want. And even if there are no consequences for our actions in Heaven, there are enough consequences for us in this life that we don't need them to keep us on the right path.
Evolution is a fact.
Personally, I think that anybody who needs to prop up their faith in a cloud fairy with pseudoscience that the earth is 6,000 years old is an amoral dork to begin with. I don't need Genesis to tell me that life is precious. I already know.
If your God had any real influence on the behavior of people, then we wouldn't need laws.
Usually when I hear this idiocy, it comes from a Christian who assumes that people who don't believe in God lose all sense of right and wrong.
Let me ask YOU something. If you somehow woke up tomorrow and realized that God was a delusion, would you take it as a license to do whatever you want?
Rob people?
Cheat on your spouse?
Kill your enemies?
Stop helping people in need?
Be cruel to peole that have never wronged you?
Fail to forgivee people as you would like to be forgiven?
Deal drugs?
What? Would you suddenly turn into a serial killer? Just because there is no God?
(I don't know if you're asking this because that is what you think, or if you really don't know, so please don't take this as being hostile.)
-If the answer is no, then ask yourself why, and you will understand why people who are atheists don't believe in God and can still be good people.
-If the answer is yes, then I would have to say that you are an incredibly, amoral, sick, weak-minded person, with or without God's existance.

I think you need an education and I hope you stay in school to learn biology.
Millions of theists understand biologic processes without it threatening our faith in God.
Modern medicine and genetics are dependent on application of evolutionary theory.
This attempt to "debate" evolution appears NO different to me than the medieval church calling astronomers heretics for claiming the earth revolved around the sun rather than sun revolving around the earth as the Bible depicts.
http://www.actionbioscience.org/ < perhaps this MAY help you. If your self-concept isn't threatened by understanding that all life is connected and you are also an animal form. Otherwise, you may not be able to process information because our psyche is a wonderous thing..denial is sometimes subconcious and it protects our self-concepts from being shattered with unpalatable views to replace it..with denial.
You're an animal and like all life forms, in the act of reproduction and genetic exchange over time, change happens. evolution happens. It will continue to happen as long as life exists.
So, when you think about it..creation didn't just happen in "six days"..it is as ONGOING as LIFE ITSELF!

False, I believe in God and evolution. I believe God created and also allowed everything to evolve. No rules=end of the world. God=choice for all mankind.
I prefer the term universal laws as opposed to rules. If there were no laws (rules), I'm sure someone would find a reason to use the atomic bomb globally.

Piffle! Evolution is science it is not a question of belief. It is the change in organisms over time. Many scientists believe in gods and come from a wide variety of religions. They find no problems with the teachings of their religion and science. To deny the fact of evolution and take a literal belief in the Bible is to deny all science - biology, geology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, medicine, meteorology etc etc. It is only the biblical fundamentalists who are prepared to do that, the rest of the population - of all religions - accepts science.
The rules and laws we live by have nothing whatsoever to do with gods. The same basic rules exist in all human societies - theist and non theist - and they are logical for groups of people who live together. Humans have always made up their own rules, it is how the rules came about.

For alot of Atheists, yes. For the rest, because Evolution is probably true.
For me, the thought of an unitelligent universe creating itself is unfathomable. We have never seen such an event occur, though, the physics during the early creation of the Earth may have been very different. This is still the best theory we have, however. Much better than Creationism which provides little scientific evidence.
I choose to question Evolution just like I question God.
Thinking outside the box is liberating.

False.
Truth is the reverse: People believe in GOD because accepting the evidence of evolution feels like accepting evidence that there isn't a GOD.
I am an atheist. I have rules and I have no GOD, therefore No God = no rules is false.

False.
People accept Evolution because it's good science and it makes a great deal of sense. Just like chemistry, physics, astronomy, biology, astronomy, etc.
Or do you think that people also "believe in Chemistry" so they don't have to follow God's rules?

False, Evolution is science that has nothing to do with God except it happens to conflict with the bible.
The truth is out there, maybe we found it, maybe we still need a few pieces.. one thing for sure, God is not helping us find any answers or doing anything else for that matter...
I choose to believe in science because it has never lied to me.

False, the vast majority of people accept evolution because it is good science. If someone needs "god" to tell them the difference between right and wrong, they are a sorry soul indeed...
