Tell them, why you were in an argument, and say they were being unfair, or not listening. Or, hide it and get in huge trouble, like when I hid my report card. This year I'm giving it to them openly, saying why I got the grades. But anyway, be all like "Mom/Dad, I have to talk to you. Please let me finish before you talk. I got kicked off of track because me and coach (NAME HERE) got in a fight because of (ARGUMENT SUBJECT), I hope you understand I didn't do it on purpose, or get kicked out for drugs, or something worse. Ask her if you want, and ask if I can get back on" Caution, if you did drugs, say that first, after in a...good setting, like at a kitchin table? You'll look more mature and not "OMGmOMigotkickedouttatrackkaythanksbye" Take your time and explain yourself,

It depends on what was the topic of the argument. Usually students do not argue with teachers or coaches. I would say if you had a valid point, discuss it with your parents. If not and if you were in the wrong, go to them and express your dismay and your regret and tell them that you will do better next time. Either way tell them soon and get it over with.
Do you like track? I mean if that coach werent there would you? Is there another sport you'd like to try? This may end up being a blessing if you never liked it
