Every kid is different and it changes so fast in a matter of months. My daughter will be 3 in January. When she turned 2 she could say quite a few words and understood everything but was barely putting two words together. She was an excellent walker, climber, runner, jumper. She loves the park, playing dolls, blocks, puzzles, reading books, and much more. 2 is a very fun age. Now, she speaks in full sentences and remembers things that happened months ago. She repeats everything we say so we have to be careful not to say too much. Good luck!

It has been a while since my son was two. He was walking well, started at about 13 months old.
He liked playing in the bath, playing with push toys like waggons and toy lawn mowers, anything where he could practise walking. He also liked blocks, cars and playing at the park.
He was a fairly good talker and started before he turned 1. We read to him every day and talked to him a lot. He was putting together fairly complex sentences by the age of two. I can't remember what words he was saying exactly but he used to walk around saying " Its my job to seek out the truth".
He asked a lot of questions, mainly about how things work and what things are. They take in a vast amount of knowledge at that age and understand more than we realise.

My son is 18 months old, but from what I see with him and from looking ahead in books I would say that by two most children are starting to use sentences. My son uses 2 word phrases like "bye-bye squirrel", "more cheese", and "milk all gone", but in the next six months he will probably start expressing himself with more complex phrases. A two year old should speak clearly enough for strangers to understand the majority of what he says. The two year old should understand the majority of what adults say as well. Language should not be as big a barrier as concept to the child. By two they should be very skilled walkers. My son is quite a bit younger, but he runs, jumps, skips, climbs, and dances....now that I think about it he really doesn't walk much :) A two year old would have fun coloring, playing with riding toys, stuffed animals, duplos, simple puzzles, and pretending. Hope this helps!

My daughter is 2 and can speak in full sentences and there is nothing she can's say. She can count and say ABCs. She walks, runs, jumps. She plays with everything but she loves her play kitchen and dollhouse, and dolls in general. But, on the other hand I babysit for 3 other 2 year olds and none of them can say more than a handful of words. I guess it just depends on the child.
