I asked a question the other day requesting Muslims to stop being Sunnis or Shias instead be Muslims because we are too busy fighting amongst ourselves and kafirs are taking advantage of that. Example: All the bloodshed in Iraq between 'Sunnis' and 'Shias' that kafirs are taking advantage of.

To Mimi & B: If you drop by this question I would like to remind Mimi that youve seen the consequences of messing with me. You aint winning against me. And if you bother to post something I need you to spell things correctly. Moreover grammar and sentence construction should also be taken care of. You are an engineering student, arent you? And dont report this too. Be informed I care less about violations.

I understand your question, I always question why do we have groups such as Shia and sunni, salafi, we shouldn't devide ourselfs we are Muslims and we should just follow the Sunnah and be Muslims and anyway its haram to do as the non Muslims do, Christans and Jews they all branched themselfs out, we shouldn't do that.
The bloodshed in Iraq how ever some of that stuff is set up and they blame it on Sunnis and shias so don't believe everything that they tell you on the T.V.
Just always remember the Shahada is what unites all of us Muslims together!

There are Muslims who do not follow the example of Prophet Muhammad(saw), and when it is pointed out to them most are arrogant and deny the truth even when it is clear. They follow the example of their parents and their parents' parents.
Most of us never question the traditions that we follow and whether it is true Islam or not.
Look at what you do whether your parents do it or not and if it is something that the Prophet(Saw) or his companions or the Salaf did not do, then it is innovation.
Prophet Muhammad was sent as a warner and to set a clear example. Regardless of whether you believe that we are in different times or not, we Muslim have been given a road map, so to speak in terms of the Qurah and sunnah. If we veer off of its course we are doomed.
Some of us are tested; we come into this world and our families raise us to be Christian, Jew, Hindu etc and we find Islam and submit, but some are born and raised in Islam and cannot see clearly the differences of the Islam that we are be raised in and the Prophets(saw), which is better?
"Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe, to be affected by Allah's Thikr, and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were Fasiqun(rebellious, disobedient to Allah)."

How can we stop being sunna and shi'a when we have different Aqeeda (creed), Fiqh and even hadeeth collections?
Shi'a reject most of the prophet's (sas) companions, mothers of believers and the sunnah of the prophet (sas). They believe in Imamah and reject Al Khilafah. etc..
Those who say sunna and shi'a can be reconciled are apparently living in another planet.
Let me repeat what I said in another answer:
I agree with you that we should call to God in a civilized manner BUT Man, whether you like it or not, shi'a are an off shot of Islam .. they are a deviant astray cult. unless you return back to the true Islam with which the prophet (sas) was sent.. there is no agreement between you and us .. for how can truth agree with falsehood? how can guidance agree with straying?
It's our responsibility to expose shi'a and show Muslims how wrong and far from Islam they are .. if we don't we will be held responsible before Allah.
EDIT: Proud Shia has just made that comment:
You think so because you don't know that Mahdi already come and he is in hiding now but later Mahdi will come from Iran. Then he will kill all Sunnis because they are lying on Ahle Bait and they killed Hasan and Hossain.

Don't be surprised, many many shi'a think in that way.
Shi'a are killing Sunnis in Iraq in the most horrible way .. for they think they were responsible for killing Al Hassan and Al Hussein. What a ridiculous way of thinking.

It sounds like you are telling someone to stop practicing that religion, which is against the Yahoo! Community Guidelines.
But, I do get what you are saying, and I agree. All muslims should be one, together. Not separated like christianity where it's split into catholics, and other stuff.

youre right about that. having been to an islamic school in the united states where we were almost 50:50..you learn to exchange ideas and learn from each other as muslims and not "oh, hes sunni" or "oh, shes shi3i"
im happy to say i see alot of that here too...although there are a few of radicals, but if we can deal with non-muslims discriminating us, we can deal with them too.

You can't stop being "shi'a" or "sunni". It's the same as Catholics and Protestants. In addition, i would delete the question too, it offends us muslims.

Salam Aleykum
Its a sad thing brother, I have tried callingfor unity...Its just that some muslims here call me a hypocrite for that...and it is really immature to argue like this..everyone has their own point of view and lets leave God to decide who is right and who is wrong....
