He said it was all a bet but it seemed different?

There was this boy who came up to me the 3rd week of school. I remembered he had asked my name b4 and i told him. i barely knew him, but neways he started talking to me. He said that he liked me and then asked if I noticed that he liked me. I wasnt talking that much , he was doing most of the talking, but neways he told me had 2 go and he would get back to me on Monday(it was friday) I thought about some of the things he said, but i really didn't no him and i didn't like him. I came to scool monday and we had to go to the gym. so i told my friend he told me he liked me. she confronted him and asked him if it was true, he just got up and smiled at me. when we got back to the class he said it was all a bet. The next day he had a hair cut and everything, looked 2times better than he did But he sent signals that he liked me evn though i didnt like him. we have never said a word since then. but he does notice i m there. why is he acting like this and not apologizing?
