hate having his fingers dirty? for the past few months he always puts his hands out to be cleaned if there is anything on them at all. food, dirt, specks of anything and he won't put his hands down until we clean them off or we tell him to lick them off. If he ever finds any little piece of anything on the floor he always picks it up and takes it to the trash. I rearanged the living room the other day and he was trying to put stuff back to where it was before! Have you heard of toddlers doing this?

its common. my son is the same way. except he wont take trash to the trash can. he always notices little pieces of food on his fingers when he eats. then he shows it to me and wants me to wipe it off. sometimes he will wipe it on his bib. if he sees anything on the floor he pushes it around with his index finger. as for rearranging things, toddlers around this age love doing it! they like to line things up, pick up things and put them down repeatedly in different spots, put things in containers over and over again, and move their toys around. it helps them learn the differences and similarities in objects, and sizes and such. your son obviously liked the way the room was before! he is just trying to arrange it the "right" way. :)

Quite normal for that age range. They get over it about the time you teach them about play-doh and finger painting.

my son also does the same, he's 15 months old. usually the kids develop a routine or a habit. and they get their actions based on what they see on us.

Sounds like he has been taught good hygiene practices. I would be thankful and proud whether than wondering if it was normal.

my daughter was that way too. young children do not adapt well to changes, hence putting the furniture back.

Yep. At this age, they like order in their universe.
