Getting the cavity fixed before you have your braces put on should be your first priority. A small cavity now is better treated before your ortho is started. Brushing will be especially important once you have your braces and your Orthodontist should supply you with a kit of toothbrushes or at least recommend some brushes that work great with braces. Spin brushes are really good as well. Fluoride rinses can also help minimize cavities you may be prone to while in braces.

if you couldn't reach it before the braces it will be even harder with the braces on.

orthodontists usually require all dental work to be done prior to putting on the braces.

i would recommend getting it filled and getting an electric toothbrush and doing a better job or else you will have more cavities forming while the braces are on.

INVEST IN 2 THINGS TO MAINTAIN A GREAT SMILE.
#1= ELECTIC TOOTHBRUSH WITH A SMALL HEAD DESIGN, AND
#2= A WATERPIK MACHINE TO KEEP THE GUMS AROUND THE BRACKETS/WIRES CLEAN AND HEALTHY.
GET THAT SMALL CAVITY FIXED BEFORE YOU GET BRACES.
