THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION.
THERE IS MUCH MORE TO DOING A ROOT CANAL CORRECTLY THAN JUST EXTRACTING A TOOTH.
YOU PAY FOR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL RATHER THAN THE MECHANICAL EXTRACTION OF A TOOTH. YOU ALSO PAY FOR THE TIME INVOLVED. ROOT CANALS TAKE MUCH LONGER THAN EXTRACTIONS.

I have been a dental assistant for 21 years and we do not pull the root of your tooth. When a root canal is done the Dr. removes the nerve tissue that is in the root of the tooth because it has become infected and now causes you pain. Doing a Root canal will save your tooth for a long time and it will keep your other teeth from shifting, if you choose to have it extracted. TIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY OTHER CHIOCE IF THE ROOT CANAL IS NOT DONE> sAVE YOUR TOOTH IT IS THE LAST SET OF REAL TEETH YOU WILL HAVE IN YOUR LIFETIME. TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You think that is all they have to do they work on your gums for a long time scraping the decay away and just a lot of things to a root canal. I don't want to scare you but I suffered living death after the feeling came back in.

a root canal removes the nerve from within the canal with tiny instruments. it is not an extraction. it is a time consuming dental procedure and you are paying the dentist because they know what they are doing.
