I needed a car because I am 17 years old and he's getting the Audi Q7/Q5 (not sure yet) because he's convinced that it's the best SUV on the market (and trust me, it drives WAY better than the Cayenne.) Anyways, my mother starting yelling at him because she says its "inapropriate" for a teen girl to drive a car like that and that he should buy me a Nissan SUV instead. Would a father who would make a normal decision of handing down his old car be crazy?

Well, I'm just wondering if that's a crazy decision. I mean, a Porsche Cayenne is one of the best SUVs on the market. If I get a Porsche before I'm even legal, what will happen when I get a job and can't pay for the repairs? I feel like a Porsche is just a status symbol and that when I go to college people will hate me and call me a snobby ***** for having a $100,000 car.

I am very thankfull but a Porsche isn't a BMW or a Mercedes-Benz. Most of the time, a Porsche is a head-turner. I woudn't mind having a Mercedes or BMW since those are discreet cars and nobody stares at you when you drive it...the Cayenne has been on the market for almost 5 years and I still turn heads with that car (unlike my mom's Audi SUV)
