Because weed kills brain cells.
The feeling of being High tells them "everything will work itself out" when thats the furthest thing from the truth.

Sure, THC is definately a drug. I love weed, it's my drug of choice. I've vaporised it for many years to the exclusion of other drugs. I like that i can inhale it and feel relaxed and slightly euphoric for a couple of hours, then it leaves my system and i'm back to normal, maybe a little sleepier. It doesn't give me withdrawals, it doesn't kill me (i don't smoke it so i don't even have to worry about carcinogens) and it doesn't get in the way of all the things i'm doing with my life.

Weed has never gotten in the way of my life, it's helped me to regulate what used to be, frequent mood swings and bouts of depression by giving me a little something to look forward to at the end of the working day.

Weed has never stopped me from working, from getting three tertiary degrees, from having loving and satisfying relationships. And one of the most rewarding and satisfying jobs i could dream of. Weed has certainly not lowered my IQ, i consistently test at 136-140, and have since i was ten years old.

The only problem i have ever had with weed is other peoples perceptions of it. If i was caught by the police with weed, it could destroy my life, all the hard and good work i've done in my job would be devalued and forgotten because i like a drug other than alchohol. There is also the problem that i've had to keep the fact that i like weed separate from many friends, family and relationships, and this leads to dishonesty which cripples such relationships. That's very sad, it's a constant war -but what can i say, i love winding down at the end of a day and see absolutely nothing wrong with using weed to do that.

Often people are preoccupied with judging people, but really, without an education, you can't know what you are talking about, the comments around me in this question all seem very uneducated, people make absolutely fallacious statements and seem to be spouting common government mantra's about drug addicts and weed. It's the whole "don't listen to them, they aren't even human anymore" argument, and unfortuntely it holds very little water. People do this with all kinds of minorities, christians do it to atheists, atheists to christians, homophobes do it to gays, white australians do it to aborigines, republicans do it to liberals, and everybody does it the other way around.

I say, practice some empathy and respect, don't give into prejudice concerning and judge people by their contributions, by how they treat others and what they do. Not on aspects of their private lifestyle that are nobodies business. And remember, weed has only been a bad thing for eighty years, and it was only made illegal because hemp threatened the cotton industry and because in america, weed was seen as a drug enjoyed primarily by mexicans and black americans rather than by whites.
Before that, even Jesus had it!

thats a bullsh!t statement weed doesnt ruin a family the people in the family ruin it. Just because someone smokes pot doesnt make them a bad person its no worse than alcohol and many people drink but they aint bad people. Marijuana will only b what its made out to b for instance if me and my older brother live together and smoke pot we r bonding if i lived with my dad and smoked pot i was a terrible kid. so dont b so quick to judge and say weed destroys families cause its seemed to made me and my brothers relationship better

people who do any kind of drug (weed, alcohol, heavy narcotics) are past the point of being rational. they're addicted, and they'll do anything to defend themselves, just so they get the next high. it's sad, but it's hard to get through to someone in that situation.

It is just like the alcoholics think they don't hurt, or like spendthrifts think they don't hurt...

These people have no touch with reality.
