Mostly because pride detates that anything that can't be made perfect is therefor sinful and perversive in the eye's of the lord. Or other words, it doesn't fit in a black and white world, so their black, were white. The truth exsist in a grey area, but with christianity to function you can't have much of that, satan and all.....
