It really depends on the situation.Like how hard, with what (a belt) that's a no-no.What the child did? Does the mother know that she spanks her child? Goes if not that could get ugly. And has the step mom been there since the baby was little or did she just now come around then that would be wrong.Well me I had a step mom and she did hit us and I hated her (something to think about) I am a step mom and I do not spank him (because he is not mine) and if a step mom spanked my boys we would have problems.Because they are not hers to discipline that the fathers and I responsibility to do so.So it all depends on the situation.Hope this helps you find the answer you are looking for.

I am going to just say one thing that I think everyone will agree with. Some kids turn out fine with spanking, some do not, some parents choose to spank and some don't, and it is all good because kids learn in different ways, and as long as you're not causing physical or emotional harm, let it be. But if the child does not react well to spanking, don't spank.

It all depends on how hard she is doing it and for how long. Spankings are supposed to be done not to hurt the child but to actually traumatize them emotionally so they learn right from wrong. As a parent myself, I have to give my son a swift smack on the behind once and awhile when he does bad things after I told him no previously. He normally is upset for a few minutes, realizes his wrong-doings and then moves on. If she is spanking as an outlet to her frustrations with your half-sister then I recommend either talking to her about it or telling someone else with more bearing.

It depends how hard and how often. If it is a form of discipline and is done lightly (no bruising, not hitting anywhere other then the buttocks)
then that's alright.
People have many different opinions on this matter but as long as the child isn't being severely hurt or hit without a reason, it shouldn't be considered a problem.
If you think it is serious you can try to talk to your stepmom, dad, or a teacher, guidence councelor, etc.
I hope this helps!

Opinions will vary, but yes, I think it is wrong. Spanking, particularly a child this young, is a discipline shortcut. It's easier for the parent to spank than to learn and use positive discipline techniques.

There is nothing wrong with being spanked as long as
she is not using objects or putting to much force on her.
