A dog is never too old to be adopted. Take her and give her a good home.

In July I got a 4 1/2 y/o black Lab from a breeder. She fit into our house with the 3 other dogs right off. It's never too late to adopt a dog and give it a good, loving home.
Labs are very adaptable dogs and will bond with you in a short while. Being 2 saves you a lot of the puppy problems. Go for it.

2 years old is still a very young dog. A Labs life expectancy averages around 14. True she is (or should be) over the chewing stage, potty trained, and full grown. However she may not be settled down, many breeds like labs and goldens take up to 5 years to really calm down. But if you get along with the dog and he/she would fit well into your home, then no age is ever too old.

Absolutely not! Labs are puppies until they are 3 years old! At least at the age of 2 she's probably done with all of the chewing and is potty trained, etc. I am sure she'll be a great friend for you!

I am assuming you are going to take ownership of the dog - so no, 2 years old is not too old to take her.

The vet would be estimating her age, based on her teeth and size etc, so she may be a little older or younger.

It depends on you as a person - you need to decide whether you want the cute little puppy or the maturing dog, which is growing out of the puppy stage, and all its cuteness.

If the vet has checked her and the dog is a happy, placid animal (which is usual for this breed) and you're willing to exercise her (they are prone to weight problems) then there is no reason why she shouldn't settle in to a new home.
Just be sure that YOU are prepared for the commitment that dog ownership is. She may have another 10 (or more) years ahead of her.

Too old to take her where? Into your home and adopt her? Definitely not too old. Labs are pretty puppyish until 3, so you've definitely got yourself a young dog that has a lot of living to do.

If you want her, take her. Just because she's not a puppy doesn't mean se isn't loving and sweet. If this is your first time with a dog, she's probably better then a puupy since you don't have to worry about the ess a puupy makes.

If you believe you could give her a stable loving home- & the 2 of you are compatible-& your able to afford to take her for her vet care- and willing to spend time loving & training her then & only then -YES!! If you adopt an animal always remember that they are depending on YOU. (just like children)
