Calicos and Torties are notorious for being loud for no reason. If she has food and water, and her litter box is clean, then she's just begging for attention. My cat follows me around whining all the time, usually he just wants a belly rub.

My youngest cat is very vocal. I bottle-fed him since he was about 4 weeks old. I talked to him a lot so I like to think he is just talking back. I also had a Siamese that was so demanding of attention anything I was doing he would yowl and yowl till I stopped and loved on him regardless of what it was. I like that they seem to communicate lol

Sometimes a cat will be vocal when she has a "problem". It could be a urinary tract infection, or something else that's bothering her. If she's been checked out by your vet, since this started, and the vet says "she's fine", then she may just be wanting more attention from you. Sit down and give her some "undivided" attention for a few minutes.....play "ball" or something w/her........Hope this helps....Good luck.........

We have a silver tabby with a similar problem - she will sit in the passage downstairs in the middle of the night and howl until someone goes downstairs and carries her back to bed. Calling her doesn't work - we can only think that there is a "bogeyman" on the stairs!

Excuse the chuckling here: It just sounds like you have a very vocal kitty. Most likely all she wants is to have her head and neck rubbed.

I have three cats, one which is a tortie. She only mews when she is hungry, or we talk to her. My orange tabby, now he just talks and talks and talks for no good reason other than the hear his own voice.
