Ok, so I have been at odds with my LPO and chief about the way they have been treating me...Basically I was fired from supervisor and demoted to worker, but when anything went wrong (esp when I was gone) I would come back and they would blame it on me but then when they couldn't I was their little miracle worker (no pun intended) and could fix anything...I have spent the last 3 months bailing them out and today they sent me up to talk to someone and I got my *** chewed for no reason so I came back down and informed them that I was going to my Dept Head, and I did...

Well after talking to him, he called them in and they completely turned the situation on me (go fig.) and that they had nothing personal against me and blah blah blah...Well he sided with them and I couldn't win regardless of what I said, I finally said that it was over and we could let it go...should I have done that knowing that I was on the losing end or continued to fight?

I just feel like I gave up too easily...I am asking should I have let it go as easily as I did or should have I have fought harder...Not whether they were right or wrong.

I could have cared less about the *** chewing I got from the asshole that gave it...it was the fact that my LPO and chief set me up for it and then denied doing it...I have bailed them out time and time again but they are quick to pin any and everything on me even when I am NOT there

PS: I am a PO2 BTW and have spent 8 years in the Navy and am on my 2nd tour of duty. I have endured numerous asschewings over the years and also my share of BS...This situation in itself is the worst I have been in...In a couple days though I will be back working in my division and running my shop again.

If you feel that compelled to argue your case and you feel you're right, request mast and see the commander. Keep in mind the stigma that often goes along with requesting mast may follow and label you for a long time to come. It's unfortunate that Marines and Sailors get a bad label when they request mast, but sometimes it's the best course of action.

I have been where you are and trust me let it go. I have endured hundreds of *** chewings and after a while I stopped letting it get to me. In fact I cared so little that they stopped all together. I got my *** chewed all the time even though I was the best worker in my section and everyone knew it. The best is when you get your *** chewed by association because you there when someone else screwed up. Trying to talk it out is pointless most of the time. Just get pissed off and keep proving you a superior worker and eventually it will end.

You're going to be back in your regular shop in a few days. At this point, it's not worth it to keep fighting it. Judging by the idiots you were dealing with, they'll shoot themselves in the foot sooner or later, and the brass will know that they - not you - screwed up. (Before anyone jumps on me, I am quite familiar with Ninja's specific situation, as we know each other outside of YA...trust me, they're a bunch of dolts.)

If you tried to defend yourself the way you wrote this question, I can see why the Dept Head sided with your LPO/Chief.
