As I have only heard for those who cant pass the ASVAB for the Army once a yr there is a window that opens up for those who didnt pass, how it actually works I have no idea, I only know when I was at MEPS in Sep there was a guy who was waiting on a waiver to get in the Marines, there was a guy at BCT with me who ended up getting a waiver because he scored I think 21... to pass the AVAB you must have a 31, 50 or above opens up alot more jobs being you may have a GED you have to score over a 50, like my roomate who was in MEPS with me she got an MOS that had a bonus she has her GED yet she didnt get the bonus due to her score.
If I were you wanting to get into the military that bad, study for the test , buy the newest edition of the ASVAB, go to www.march2success.com, take online practice test until you are reayd to retest, the worse thing you can do is take it knowing you have not studied for it.
Talk to your recruiter he/she may be able to get you into the ASVAB class it normally is for Soldiers already in the Army but they have few seats open to non military what this class does is go over the ASVAB after I think 7 weeks you take the ASVAB.. I have a friend who is in this class becuae he failed the ASVAB and really wants to go into the Army.
I am so tired of people saying you have to be dumb not to pass the test, apply yourself and all will be ok!

Unfortunately, for someone with a GED, a waiver for the ASVAB is not possible. There are some things you need to know. Say your first score was a 20, and you had to retake it, and you scored a 45. Because there was a large jump in score, you would be required to take it one more time to ensure that the jump in score was not a fluke. As I answered one of your previous questions, if you are a high school graduate, a senior in good standing, or a GED holder with at least 15 college credits, you need to score at least a 21 on the ASVAB and have GT of at least 80. In three years of recruiting my office never had a GED waiver approved. And thats even when they scored in the 80's on the ASVAB. If you are serious about the military, then you will do what it takes to make yourself elegible and get the college credits so you are considered a high school graduate. Also, taking the courses will help you score higher on the test.

Generally once a month there is a day where waivers are granted for those individuals who cannot pass the asvab. Recruiters are told about this day and they take their applicants back to MEPS for inprocessing. A CAT 5 waiver is granted instantly on that day. If that is not the case in your state then, as long as you are otherwise qualified, they are just waiting on approval from the higher headquarters. If you haven't taken the asvab yet, don't get to worried about it. If you can pass the GED test you should have no problem passing the ASVAB. It is common sense and multiple choice. I helped my cousin fo the GED and it is a pretty extensive exam.

You have to pass the ASVAB. Maybe you should consider going back to school, getting your 15 credit hours and then you would be okay. Having a GED and 15 credit hours is just like having a HS diploma. If you can't pass the ASVAB a 50+ you need to get a study guide and study.

dude i think your recruiter lied to you. if you have a ged and pass the asvab with a 31 or more you can enlist. AFQT DO NOT determine jobs, the AFQT determines eligibilty to enlist, the line score determine job availability.
i dont know what branch you went to but give the army a try, as long as you dont need a butt load of waivers for moral or medical issues you can be in as early as next week.

maybe if you you are one or two points shy on your line scores, NOT if you are more than five off.
short answer: knock out 15 credits(5 classes) 100 level college courses. one, you refresh your education and two, you now only need 35 on the ASVAB to get in. One semester at your local community college.
