Pagans believe in evolution, created by the Earth (Mother Nature. I think this is a big one, you would have to agree we were created by Nature through evolution. So is Gaia the closest you would come to believing in any form of deity?)
Pagans don't believe in Deity in the form of a Big Angry Sky Pixie, but that we are God/dess ourselves. We don't "worship" any deity, we are not lesser beings. If anything we see deity as kin and equals.
We take responsibility for our own actions, no Sky Pixie or Boogey man made us do it!
No such thing as Hell, no judgement except from our own morals and empathy.
Its funny, thinking about it. Athiests and Polythiests having things in common.

Choncho: Yeah, I am a Panthiest, but I wanted to make a contrast between 0 and many.
It took the Pagan Alliance about 6 months to come up with a definition of paganism that MOST could agree with. Difficult buggers, aint we!?!

Belief in evolution does not define an atheist. Overall, Atheists (who don't believe in deity) are not going to agree with Pagans about religion, because most Pagans (and all Polytheists) do believe in deity. That Pagans and Atheists agree on evolution is completely separate from the fact that they are Atheists and Pagans.
The fact that Pagans and Atheists both disbelieve in Christian things is likewise not really much of a common ground.
Many Pagans do describe their practices as worship, and they do view the gods as being greater than them. There are a great many religions within Paganism, each with their own beliefs. And some of them do involve big angry sky deities. (Zeus anyone?)

Well I'm partially Wiccan, partially Agnostic and partially Pagan. Though, some people say Wicca is a Pagan religion (?) so I guess those two can intersect. As I understood it, Pagan is a very broad word to describe a multitude of religions, the same way Christian describes several various religions. It seems that everyone has a different definition so it's really hard to say.
Anyway, I don't have a problem with ANY religion unless said religion is being forced on me. Even at that, it's not the religions fault. It is the fault of the people who are doing the forcing.
And...now I'm rambling. I apologize. :P This probably was not helpful at all.

I think how close the agreement might be will depend on the particular pagan and atheist. Some pagans I know have very specific literal God/Goddess beliefs. Some atheists see nature in a spiritual way and others not so much. I think I find a lot to like in general pagan beliefs. I have no problems with people having different beliefs than myself so long as they aren't forcing their beliefs or trying to legislate them or obstruct science because of them. I feel more kinship with pagans sometimes because we are both groups that are often misunderstood and vilified. I am an atheist who considers myself a scientific pantheist and I actually embrace some pagan holidays in a natural way, solstices and equinoxs. So yes, personally I feel I have things in common in terms of shared vision of the cosmos and humanity. =)

Pagans agree with the same scientific facts that atheists do, but there are so many different types of Pagans, it would be hard to put a finger on a single example that all would agree with.
I consider myself Pagan. While not "believing" in any god or goddess, I do use the Elementals and Universal Energies to aid me in my endeavors. I don't consider them Deities, though, but "helpers."
But, again, that is my own personal view of Paganism. That is what makes Paganism so wonderful. Each person must be responsible for their own path.

Sorry but this sounds like delusions of grandeur:
"Pagans don't believe in Deity in the form of a Big Angry Sky Pixie, but that we are God/dess ourselves. We don't "worship" any deity, we are not lesser beings. If anything we see deity as kin and equals."
I think most atheists would say we are primates.

ROFLMAO!!!
C'mon man, we can't get two PAGANS to agree on faith, let alone the Atheists!
There religion teaches them to believe in science only, and not to have faith in that which they can not see.
But I will say that the striking similarity is the responsibility part.
By the way, from your beliefs (as stated) you are not a polytheist, and surely not all pagans are polytheists! Quite a number are pantheists, also there are animists, ect.

Not all Pagans believe the things you've mentioned.
However, as I'm both a Pagan and an atheist, I do know that they are not strictly incompatible.

I don't believe in any deity. However, I appreciate the fact that Pagans do not try to shove their beliefs down my throat and up my hinder parts.
Unlike some Christians.

thank you Yotlady, that's amazingly positive to hearken to. i ought to appologise for some harsh posts of mine which dealt with the homicide of my human beings and the buring of our temples by employing Christians. i'm confident you will be attentive to how aggravating that's to me. yet I understand that there are various sturdy people who're Christians who does no longer have accomplished issues like that, if that they have been there whilst it befell. Then, there are nonetheless those today who refuse to confess that it befell, or possibly some who say we deserved to be killed because of the fact we did no longer settle for Christ. and of direction there are all of the lies approximately us which seem meant to make us seem undesirable, and subsequently by some potential justify killing us. that's the luggage i've got had problems with. upload to it the prevalent anti-gay sentiments that are so hateful, and the regulations on women being ordained, the abortion and stem-cellular difficulty, and so on. and it variety of feels to make all Christians seem undesirable... so back, I thank you for conversing up with a voice of reason and concord. I specifically circumstances ask your self what variety of a cooperation ought to be regularly occurring with cutting-side-day Christians. I had lunch with a Catholic Bishop to debate that, yet no longer something lots got here of it, different than there became into effective sentiments on the two aspects. What we choose are to be invited to Christian conferences to get familiar and to have their monks declare that we are no longer evil and probably even appologise for the tragic activities of the previous. i believe which would be a sturdy place to commence, yet i became into informed a clergyman ought to be excommunicated for doing something like that, LOL I intend to ask the Bishop to our Solstice party... in reality I greater desirable try this acceptable now, because it extremely is basically 2 days away. happy you jogged my memory ! Many advantages, Jean
