they were both messengers from God,but all of their followers turned their messages into hatespeach and arrogantly think that they are the first finders of the truth of life, while killing each other.

Jesus certainly was no fake, he is a historical figure that Josephus wrote about at the time.
If you had any real knowledge of the Bible you would realise that the prophecies about Jesus were written hundreds of years before he was born.
Jesus came with a real message and purpose from his Father the LORD God.
The good news of forgiveness of sins which still burden people down. The Gospel was positive, all it needed was for men and women to respond.
Jesus died on the cross as a sinless man and rose the 3rd day as prophesied. Not a action that you can fake.
In fact the writer of the book 'Who moved the Stone' set out to disprove the resurrection but found that in the end he was convinced of its truth.
Mohammed came later and seemed to have similar material in some places but got the Isaac/Ishmael account mixed up.
Mohammed demoted Jesus to the status of prophet rather than Son of God. That is totally wrong.
The message of peace and love which Jesus preached do not seem to have a
place in Islam from what we can observe.

In Jesus' case it was such a great con that he (and 11 of his 12 inner circle) where all tortured to death rather then renounce it. Not a very reasonable idea.
Had they been "con man", they would have being working to make themselves rich and get into positions of power. Instead each of them choose a life of "poverty" and hardship. Read 2 Corinthians 11:16-32 some time to get an idea of what these people endured for their faith.
Sorry, but if Jesus and his followers were "con men", they were lousy ones.

The possibility that you are a fake is far greater than that of people who had principles, stuck to them, taught others to do so, and didn't take no s--t from no body.

I'm still undecided if a guy named Jesus existed. The 'proof' that he did has arguments against it. Anyway, if he did, he seems more Gnostic anyway.
I don't know a lot about Mohamed. He could have wandered across some hallucinatory mushrooms and sincerely thought he was talking to God ;-) That, or the desert sun was just too much for him to handle...

As for their insights and beliefs, we'll be debating that forever
short of somone inventing a time machine to take us back.

Well, it didn't take a certain prophet long to convince people it was ok to have a 9 year old for a wife, right?

the fact that Jesus existed can be proven by extra-Biblical sources like Tacitus. Try reading Dr. Paul Maier's books to see what I mean.
