usually when they bite... its because they are biting their nails down. dogs need their nails trimmed because they will keep growing and make it hard for them to walk. so they will keep up with their nails themselves and bite them... its completely normal, my 2 dogs do it all the time :)

If its just an occassional grooming thing I wouldn't worry about it.
If she does it a lot, however, she might have allergies, or something wrong with her pawpad, or the skin between her paws. Are there any sores or cuts on her paws? My dog KeKe also does it when her nails are to long or when she just iches! I say dont worry about it if is only sometimes she does it it is not TICKS OR FLEAS!!!

I have 2 dogs and when they bite paws it is because they are grooming themselves.
It really isn't anything to worry about unless they are making a raw spot or they do it all the time then you need to call your local VET.

Why do some people bite their nails?
Maybe their paws itch and they are going to come into money!
Make some hot sauce and dip it's paws in it. Worked on my niece. No, she isn't a dog. Kid bit her nails.

They bite their paws because it helps them itch easier. Its the same when they nibble at there fur. Also maybe they are trying to clean a little better.

Some might be allergic to something they walked on. If they have hair inbetween the pads it gets wet or frozen in the winter and my dogs used to bite at it, cleaning it. Check their pads. Sometimes they get dry or cracked.

Could be allergies. My dog get benedryl every day or he scratch and chews on his feet. Could just be a damaged pad. Check his feet. If they are badly cracked he may need some lotion. The get grass burrs. Sometimes, the long hair gets to bugging them and you need to scissor it out a bit.

When my dog was doing this, the vet said he had allergies or a bacterial infection. We rubbed some cream on it and tried to keep him from licking it off and it eventually cleared up.
