So, I'm on the road to Baptism. But now I'm having, like panic attack doubts because everyone keeps telling me I'm being brainwashed and I'm stupid. I really love the religion. It is so beautiful and makes perfect Biblical sense, I just, I dunno. Want an opinion about a life long commitment I'm about to make.

Thank You. I am more than appreciative of my Brothers and Sisters lifting me up and helping me see that I had the right answer all along. I was raised a Witness then fell out of the truth and nothing warms my heart more than being able to worship Jehovah for a lifetime. So, thank you for all your answers. You were right. I did need to approach Jehovah in prayer and after doing so, I had never felt so sure in my life. I am so proud that one day soon, I will be one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

no one can tell you what to do. pray to Jehovah God threw his son Jesus Christ and they will help you make up your mind. people here will slander us. the ones who know nothing about us will tell you we are a cult. a cult worships man. we worship Jehovah. my late husband and I where born Jewish and became Jehovah Witnesses and I know for a fact. I would never change my mind about being a witness. we have a worldwide brother and sisterhood in 236 lands. so I tell you again, don't listen to people who will tell you not to do it. also talk with the elders they are there for you. remember we are all imperfect and Jehovah and Jesus knows that we will make mistakes. the more I learn about Jehovah and Jesus Christ. the more I love them. they are awesome. they have been here for me each day, with there arms around me holding me up since I lost my husband. Jehovah and Jesus Christ are my best friends and we can talk to them any time of the day or night. no busy signals as you see people who turned there back on Jehovah love to slander us. Jehovah will deal with them

I would definitely advice you to research other religions first. Because once you are a witness you will not be able to question anything or look into any other religion without being looked down upon.

I was raised as a Witness and I got baptized even though I had doubts. Now, I continue to research and study and the more I learn about my religion, the more confused I become.

I also feel like I am letting Jehovah down by feeling this way.
I also am afraid of being disfellowshipped for not believing EVERYTHING I am taught.

I am not saying don't get baptized at all, I am just saying that you should make sure that when you do get baptized, you do not have any doubts that what you are being taught is the truth. Because once you become a witness there is no turning back unless you get disfellowship or disassociate yourself(which is just like disfellowshipping).

...Edit...

FUFU

How ignorant are you? I have never claimed to be a GOLDEN Jehovah's Witness. I have never been a GOLDEN JW, Because I have NEVER believed EVERYTHING that was tossed at me in a Watchtower or Awake or any other publication, unless I saw it is backed by scripture.

And you would be suprised how many others "secretly" feel the same way. Just look online, there is a website filled with Jehovah's witnesses who although still attend meetings DO NOT believe everything they are taught. I ran by it one day and disregarded it, so I don't know the link, but I'm sure if you look hard enough (Which you won't, since you are a GOLDEN witness) you will find it.

Pray. This is a serious committment that only you can make; not your mom, dad, best friend, or rumors can make this decision for you. Pray and ask God to give you the understanding of the true meaning of baptism, and is this your time. I am not JW, I am Christian, but believe tha whatever you believe in, if panic attacks or rumors are affecting your decision making, it's time to re-evaluate. Who is this everyone that's informing you that JW is brainwashing or stupid? People you hold dear? People that are enemies of JW? This is a big deal, think about what you are doing, pray about it, then decide. Many blessings to you.

The fact that you are asking such an important question on this website concerns me.
If you do not feel ready for baptism dont.
Your faith and love for Jehovah would be compelling you to symbolize your dedication to him.
Jehovah recognises we are all imperfect and will make mistakes and sin. That however, is no reason to defer from becoming one of his dedicated servants.
There can be no greater priviledge on earth than to be able to call yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Think about what a wonderful priviledge that is!
You should know by now that this whole system is under the control of Satan the Devil and he wants nothing more than to turn people away from serving God,Jehovah.Jesus said his followers would be hated just as he was.So it should come as no surprise to you that 'everyone' is giving negative feedback. You need to follow your heart and pray to Jehovah for strength and guidance and seek out those who love Jehovah and can help steer you in the right direction.

If you are asking a bunch of strangers on the Internet then you should not! Not because of this but because there are more haters, liars and slanderers here then anywhere else. Don't throw the pearl before the swine. That is such a personal question but if your really asking it...then you need to mature a bit more...because it isn't the religion that saves you it is the personal relationship you have with God and his Son...you will have people come and go and say anything...but Jehovah and his son Jesus are eternal. It is them whom you love and the "religion" is a helper in that but even the "religion" will tell you that.

It only makes biblical sense if you look at their beleifs through their particular funnel; your eye at the wide end, looking through to the narrow end. That way, you see things the way *they* want you to, skewed by their interpretation. The rest of the world is on this side of the funnel and can look at all things as they are.

IMHO making a lifetime commitment to this organisation would be a huge mistake. If you get involved, yes, you can change your mind and back out, but it's a complicated process full of heartbreak.
Please don't do this to yourself. If you're having doubts, there's a good reason for them. You're not convinced; don't commit.

I was raised in a different pseudoChristian organisation, and it cost me almost everything (friends, family, peace etc) to get free. Save yourself the pain. If you want to worship God, find a nondenominational Christian church or organisation such as a housechurch where you feel comfortable, and which will not require denial of your personhood.

Don't let other peoples opinions hurt you, because its just their opinions.

The only thing you have to worry about is your relationship with God and sticking to the truth. There will always be persecution from opposers and thats just part of being no part of the world and a follower of Christ.

You can question anything you like. But it doesn't many every witness will have answer to a question.

Bless you for having doubts. This is your God given conscience and God given intellect speaking, listen to them and use them wisely, for they will prevent you from making a mistake. Everything only looks beautiful now, whilst you are studying, just like a piece of cheese in a trap does to a mouse. You are being 'love bombed' at the moment, a classic move to indoctrinate people into groups such as the Watchtower organisation, so you only see the good aspects. Once you are entrenched you may see things differently and it is very, very, hard to escape. I pray that the Holy Spirit works within you and helps you to see the true gospel of Christ. Talking of Holy Spirit, before you commit yourself to this 'perfect Biblical sense' look at these scriptures and ask yourself how it can possibly be some inanimate force like electricity. Can such a force be blasphemed against? (Luke 12:10); how can it comfort ?(John 14:26); how can it speak ?(Acts 13:2, 21:11); how can it find something to be good? (Acts 15:28); how can it be grieved? (Ephesian 4:30) I implore you to read these scriptures, use your NWT, but compare them with another Bible such as the King James.

Dear Harleau,

You are NOT stupid no matter what anyone says. The heavenly Father does NOT make junk.

Have you ever seen The Father's Love Letter?
http://www.fathersloveletter.com
It will show you just how much your Creator loves you and wants you to be in a right Relationship with Him.

There is a huge difference between being in a religion (manmade) and being in a Relationship with the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe.

My mother became a jw more than 60 years ago but my dad brought me up in a Christian church and I am so grateful for that. Things that Mom said didn't sound right but it was only when I started reading the Bible from cover-to-cover more than 15 years ago that I started seeing lots of flaws in what the Watchtower teaches.

My background is in Accounting and so as I examine Watchtower material I naturally compare it to what the Bible says overall. The numbers just don't add up when I look at what they teach.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

Examine the teachings, the current ones and for the last 40 years. Understand the blood transfusion issue, review the belief prior to 2000 (no blood which is 90+% water or components before 2000, then components are OK after 2000). Decide on your career, does college fit into it? The org. does not endorse college.

Getting baptized is an open contact with the WBTS. You are signing your name on a blank piece of paper.

The choice is yours. Pray to Jehovah about it, make a good decision.
