They are very Thick and Soft. You can cut them out and decorate with icing. The icing was very good also. Thanks in advance.

here you go ; Old fashioned sugar cookies
1 c butter, 2 c sugar ,1 tsp vanilla ,1/2 tsp nutmeg,2 eggs,1 c milk,6 c flour,1 tsp baking soda ,2 tsp baking powder.
In large bowl cream together butter ,sugar ,vanilla and nutmeg untill light and fluffy,beat in eggs ,1 at a time beating well after each addition add milk. sift together flour ,baking soda and baking powder . stir into creamed mixture ,stirring untill well combined . wrap dough in waxed paper. Chill for at least 30 minutes or overnight. Preheat oven to 350. Roll out dough to 1/8 in thickness on lightly floured surface cut out with 3 inch cookie cutter. sprinkle with additional sugar on top. drop onto ungreased cookie sheet bake for 12 min. cool on wire rack .
