Is this true....
Dr. Dobson & CBS Response
Apparently we are to be allowed to watch TV
programs that use every foul word in the English
language, but not the word "God." It will only
take a minute to read this and see if you think
you should send it out
DR. DOBSON'S PLEA FOR ACTION
CBS discontinued "Touched by an Angel" for using
the word God in every program. Madeline Murray
O'Hare, an atheist, successfully managed to
eliminate the use of Bible reading from public
schools a few years ago.
Now her organization has been granted a federal
hearing on the same subject by the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) Washington , DC .
Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave
the way to stop the reading of the gospel, our Lord
and Savior, on the airwaves of America .
They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand!
If this attempt is successful, all Sunday worship
services being broadcast on the radio or by
television will be stopped

Good grief, Madalyn Murray O'Hair was murdered years ago (1995, to be specific). She was the founder of American Atheists. I find it astounding that people are still getting upset over her.

She's been dead for over a decade. CBS discontinued 'touched by an angel' because the ratings stank. It had nothing to do with O'Hare. O'Hare was instrumental in getting religion out of public schools, that much is true.

It seems pretty unlikely. Touched by an Angel ran from 1994 to 2003. People were probably just tired of it, or the actors didn't want to do it any more.

That old urban myth?

O'Hair has been dead a long time. She never was involved in this. She was peripherally involved in the supreme court case removing organized prayer from school, but the primary litigant was Ellery Schempp, who began the proceedings in 1957.

Some people believe any emails they get.

Have you gotten the Ben Stein lie this year?

I wish fundies had the ability to feel chagrin. Alas, it is not to be, since even when they are wrong, they are right.

The woman died several years ago. I'm afraid I am not that upset about this like you are and I'm a Christian.

If I were you, I'd give references for your claims because right now, it's your word against anyone else's.

Err...she is dead.

And this just points out that censorship is a bad idea. It's kind of fun that it is aimed at the Christians instead of the other way around for a change.

She was an ardent atheist, and she is dead, that is her biggest problem.
