Our state is total immigrants. The majority being German, Swedes, Norway and Russian. They have been here for 200 years. 100% came here legally. They are the regions reputation--good, bad and indifferent. We have some illegal aliens that are showing up. These people are the dreggs of society. Mostly they are mexicians. They show up to do crop work or with interstate construction crews. They live in houses that are rented for 2 but filled with 15 or 20. They put their kids on the street or in the local schools, hospitals, churches and pay nothing towards our infastructure. They prey on the young and steal what isn't fastened down. They leave in the dead of the night. The crime rates triple during Sugar Beet harvest. We have to put armed guards on the construction sites that don't use illegal aliens. I guess you could say their reputation is in the shi$$er!!! USMC 60-68

About 60% in my city are mexicans....illigal or legal..realy don't care. Why? Because there the once doing the jobs no one wants

For those who say "they took my job" I say "no one is holding you back, the fields can always use another pair of hands" so don't make noice just to make noice

My city started as a small farm town...now we are one of the biggest providers of strawberry, lemons, oranges, ect in our county...witch means more money for our city,

Two new high schools in 3 years. A state university. A new community college. 100 more police hired last year. New homes. I can go on....all this because the cheap labor and our fields

If you need more examples just look at the big cities in california... san diego, l.a, sacramento, san fran, they all have cheap labor...

A bit of both. I think people respect the legal migrants who are working and paying taxes or those genuinely seeking asylum (most of the time), but as for those immigrants that are here illegally or putting in bogus asylum claims so they can scrounge off the system, they are the ones that give decent, hard working, legal immigrants a bad name.

Immigrants don't have a good or bad reputation, although there have been tensions between the different ethinc groups within the actual indigenous population.

I live in the uk and no one has a problem with 1 aussie here or a few germans there. When the legions of polish invade your local towns - even the most liberal people are starting to get pretty pissed off,

In Scotland we are all complaining that they are taking our jobs, although the Polish workers are hard working but there is a lot of racial violence from and against the Asian community as they want better rights than we have and they are all getting housed before the UK people who have waited years for housing.

For the most part they have a bad reputation around here. They seem to congregate in front of the grocery stores and heckle the woman walking by. They are notorious for starting riots We had a nice salsa club but It seems after all the violence they had to shut their doors. Contractors in the area take advantage of the illegals' status and use their low expectations for wages to undercut their competition. Everywhere I go it seems to be getting worse.

There is no issue with immigrants in my part of the country. However there are big issues with illegals. They are two different groups.

It depends who you ask. If you ask a sensible person, or perhaps an employer, he'll say yes. But if you ask somebody who is racist (like many on YA) they will always say no. Fortunately, nobody listens to these racists, as they're more likely to be sponging thieves who contribute nothing to the country.

In my part of the country illegal immigrants have a terrible reputation. But they are ok by me, as long as they work their butts off.
