Yes, in fact there is a pretty cool story about Mary's birth and growing up in the Lost Books of the Bible. Sure it's just a story, no facts to back it up, but it's a cool story nonetheless.
But the part in it you are asking about is where Mary is offered as a virgin to be married, and Joseph, an older man with a wife already, doesn't participate in the ceremony to see who is going to be her husband. All the men were supposed to put their staff into a tub and God would tell them. Well, nothing happened, then someone noticed Joseph hadn't put his in. When he did, the thing grew flowers and a bird landed on it or something like that lol.
Thing is, he wasn't real happy about doing it, and just after the marriage ceremony he left and didn't come back for a couple of months. By then, she was pregnant and he knew HE wasn't the father, so of course he was ticked off lol

Yes. The accounts show Joseph almost called it off until an angel appeared to him to tell everything was alright and the son would be important. Then he went on with the marriage.

They were betrothed (engaged) and not yet married at the conception of Jesus Christ. Joseph, being a just man, was going to put her away secretly when he learned she was with child but an angel appeared unto him telling him that the child was concieved by the Holy Spirit and that the child would be the Son of God. He later married her and they both fled to Egypt in order to save Jesus from king Herod who wanted to kill him.

The story was written so long after Jesus' death that there's little we can really know about it.
The whole New Testament was written decades after Jesus died, if he existed at all. Paul was the earliest writer, and he didn't include any details about Jesus' early years. That whole mythology was made up later in the Gospels, which were written decades after Paul. Just like other myths and urban legends, the stories get more and more details as the years go on. That's why you see far less information in the earlier writings. Even Mark, the earliest of the Gospels, had less detail then the other four, and that text, itself, was obviously edited in later years. For example, there are several versions of Mark that have been found, each with different endings in Chapter 16.

Yes. He married her before the birth so he could claim the child as his own.
