An email should suffice it could be the tie breaker in their decision on who they hire. :-) Good luck!

I'd say a card and you can get there in time if you have the post office send it priority delivery.

Here are some of my reasons:

E-Mail is generally seen as a very informal type of communication.

Everyone gets flooded every day with all kinds of emails and yours will be easily lost or overlooked.

What should the card say? Something like, thank you for the interview. I am very interested in the position and I look forward to hearing from you.

Be sure to repeat your contact information even though they already have it.

UPDATE: I agree with the letter not card comment.

For a telephone interview? I wouldn't send anything. They're screening the applicants for the next round of interviews, so what would you be thanking them for?

After a face-to-face interview, you may want to send a thank you email to say thank you for their time and consideration, but I'd wait until you get the call back for another interview. Otherwise, it'd be a complete waste of your time.

Also, I'm not sure who decided the whole "card" thing was a good idea because I've never known a manager who appreciates it and it never increased their chances of getting the job. If they liked you, they liked you. If they didn't, a card isn't going to help.

I'd send an email or letter, not a card, cards are too personal for me. I hope it went well, then you wouldn't have to send an email...you could thank them in person!

I would think that an email is adequate.
A card would not hurt, but I usually send a letter if I send mail.

Thank the person for their time and summarize your qualifications.

Save this email. When you have time, edit it, and save it for the future. You can use it again.

I would absolutely send a very simple and formal thank-you card through the mail (not an email). If you really want the job, it will really make you stand out. Keep it very simple and make sure to proofread your grammar and spelling.

For the email I would say thank you very much for taking time out of your busy day to discuss with me the opening with your company, I am very eager to learn of your decision and will look forward to your reply.

just send an email thanking her for taking the time she gave you for the interview and that you appreciated it. keep it brief and to the point. I got the job once because I sent a thank you email letter, and thank them by using her/his name in the letter.
