Women are insecure and always want to compare themselves to who you were with before. Also, you can learn a lot about someone based on their prior relationships. I know how you feel though, because I used to drive my fiance crazy asking about his exes.

It's just another "piece" of your background that allows another to understand where you've been. The point here is, you don't reveal everything, don't need to - and you must be selective about what you share and certainly, honorable and discreet if you have ANY value for prior girlfriends. Beyond a few reasonable questions (i.e., how long did you go out, what broke you up...)
The rest of it is frankly, none of her business.

I don't ask about my bf's exes. I mean, I want to leave MY past in the past, so I wouldn't want to bring up HIS past. I let him offer up any info when he wants to, and I pay CLOSE attention when he DOES, because of the fact that I am curious about what made him want to be them, and what ruined their relationship, and I want to make sure that he's fully moved on from it. It's important to learn from mistakes, and not just try to bury it in the past, so communication is great, as long as it's done the right way.

it's mainly the fact that we want to be better than them in many ways and we don't wanna make the same mistake they made and everything, atleast that's how i am. and i'm sorry to admit that b/c i don't like being better than anyone cause i know i'm not, but i would like to know if my bf likes/loves me more than he loved his ex. so...just go with it and then if it keeps going say ur uncomfortable at the moment.
