My daughter (15) has shaved her ARMS. Is there any significance in this? I think it's weird, but thought maybe this is a current trend. She has been a cutter in the past - any correlation you know of?? Help.

She's blond, so her hair wasn't that dark, but I already told her it may come back darker.
What about the cutting, could it have anything to do with that?

Corrine B - Thanks for the tip. By the way, I think she's doing for attention, she has no problems, at least that I am aware of. Has a 2 parent home, both who love her, nice house, good grades, long time friends. I'm beginning to think she thinks she needs a problem to fit in!

Hahah, i used to shave my arms, only because i went through this phase where i didnt want hair where i thought it shouldnt be. But some people just dont like how it looks, especially if it's really dark.

Yeah shaving arms is becoming quite common amongst us teens. I spose we shave our legs so why not shave our amrs too. I don't think it would have anything to do with the cuttings,

I know a girl just like that, it has nothing to do with the cutting, and the girl I know only does it because she likes it to be smooth, don't worry about it because she'll get over it.

I've done it for years (I'm 18 now). It's like shaving one's legs, esp. if you're a girl.

Some people do that. If she really doesn't want hair there, why not suggest that she waxes them instead?
