Whenever I pick up my phone it has a busy signal instead of the regular dial tone. I've tried everything to fix it, unplugging it, taking the jack out, even taking the battery out, but the busy signal is still on when I pick up my phone. Is there any way to fix this?

It could be that they shut your phone off, that is what usually happens, I had my phone shut off a few months ago and it was beeping. I was wondering what that was to,and the phone company told me that the reason for that is that it was turned off. But yeah you can access your outside box. Just go to it open it up by the screw. and plug the working phone into it. If it's working then its something with your wire. If it's not it's something on there end. Try that and then give them a call.

sounds more like a switch problem, or you have dry dsl and no voice service...

if there was a short on your line, or ROH you would only have the busy signal for a short period of time then it would go to dead air....

call your local phone repair department, as it sounds more like a trouble at the CO then anything else..

Hook a good phone to the outside phone jack that has the service line going to it.

If the good phone will not work-call the phone company.
It is their problem.
