Why do you think MOST (not all) christians and "church people" are so quick to judge? I have been on both sides of the spectrum, I would just like to get input from other people. Christians or non-Christians.

I have been in the church looking out and I have been outside the church looking in. In my opinion we will all be judged one day by God. I don't think God gave us the right to judge.

I can not understand why some are so judgmental. Maybe it is because they lack in their faith and have to try and feel that is the way to prove they are faithful. I always felt that I do not need to tell people my beliefs my actions should speak for me.

I truly don't know, but I can say that to be that way goes against the teachings of Jesus! This was something I struggled with and still struggle with; the line between telling someone what you believe to be right and judging them. The scriptures say we should only do this with other believers to help them stay on the path, but even then, there's supposed to be a limit. What I really wish the people who do such things would realize is that they are turning people away from God by showing a poor example of what it means to be a Christian. By saying you follow Christ yet not living according to His teachings, you are telling people who may not know much about Christianity that Christians are liars. Jesus said that we are not to judge others and that this is something that is only for God to do. I have to go along with what He said.

Fear - plain and simple!!!
Fear, because their faith is weak!
Fear, because their arguments are weak!
Fear, that is amply demonstrated by their hatred of science, atheists, gays and so many other things.
Truly a minority bent on becoming an ever smaller minority as people leave the churches rather than be associated with such extremism and the world is forced to turn against their unchristian bigotry, intolerance, and attempts to dictate to the world!!!!

I judge things because God gave me a brain to use. The only judgment I don't make is if someone is going to hell. Everything else is fair game

Everybody judges everybody so its very crooked to point the finger at us. We try, but to everybody else the whole "repent and be saved" rap sounds judgmental no matter what we do.

Perhaps because the Bible only allows for one true god. Or because in a largely Christian society they do not get exposed to other beliefs often. Lack of exposure to outside beliefs makes them scary or wrong.

I think it's just in human nature. I also believe that everyone is judgmental, even God is!
Now, I try not to judge people, becuase it's not my right, but it happens sometimes...

Christians aren't supposed to judge. Some, unfortunatley, think that they are 'perfect' and feel the need to judge people. But they will have to answer for that. "For what judgement ye mete, it will be measured unto you." I think that about explains it.

They judge me because I don't fit their stereotype of a good, moral person. Just because I don't believe in their god I'm labeled a "sinner" and told that I'm going to hell (that was by a pastor btw). I've even once been called a f.ag (stupid filter) lover because I support gay marriages.
To many of them, you can't be a good person unless you believe in a mythological figure. Its ridiculous and I don't have any hope for change any time soon.

I hear that all the time and I do not think it is true. Non-believers just feel that way. We know that only God is the righteous Judge.
