and don't tell me he couldn't have stopped it, you always preach how powerful and almighty your god is. Where was he when this baby was being tortured?

Of course there is the ever present "purpose". God allegedly has some kind of a purpose for this. Some other goal required the torture and death of this little girl. (about the same age as my young daughter).

I'd like to know just what that goal is. How does this alleged purpose require her torture and death?

With no goal or requirement to show, they simply repeat the claim, as if repeating it makes it true and OK.

Ya know cheesy, I ask the same questions all the time. If their is a God how can he let the innocent suffer through something like that? I only read the first paragraph because I was starting to get mad.It makes me sick to my stomach to hear about something like that.It makes me want to be a vigil anti and just mercilessly beat people like that down until they are about to draw their last breath, and then revive them and do it all over again. When I was a 11 a woman here in Lewiston Maine, put her little girl into the oven and put a chair against it, and she literally cooked the child because she was religious, and "God" told her to do it. She said the child was possessed. I remember this well because my uncle, and his band played at the benefit for the little girl.what really sucks is that we as a nation protect these people and let them live out the rest of their lives. Granted it 's behind bars but they have it better than Homeless people.I'll admit I could have been a lot better father, but I never physically hurt my child. If people don't want these children there are much better alternatives than viciously killing them.If I could get a hold of that monster right now i would get out all of my aggression, and anger and not feel one bit of remorse for doing it.

I was reading in Job last night were Job was saying just as we love,thank & worship God for the good we also must accept the unknown or what we feel is the unjust from God as well. The only conclusion is that we will understand this all 1 day when we see Him face to face & can ask him.And I don't believe that God allowed this to happen.....He may have actually stopped it-she is home now where there will be no more pain or suffering (EVER) in her life.God was right there when this was happening,& noone knows if that baby trully felt anything my prayer is that she was already safe in his arms and all they had was her flesh.Be careful when asking people to explain Gods actions. Ask Him & He will make it known to you if you can handle it.They tortured God on the cross,beat him stoned him & left him there to die...a whole nation watched this....But His purpose was resurrection....I don't know why this baby's life was so short lived & brutally ended,but I still trust God that this too has a purpose & meaning & that her life was not lived in vain...God Bless You all

This almighty and effectual and form and sturdy god does no longer exist. there is not any ******* god and persons ought to end being so shallow and irrational. How individuals are so brainwashed, I only only won't be able to make sense of it. word that none of those solutions actually answer why this harmless toddler's life became into taken. the only answer to this question is that god would not exist and issues ensue with the aid of fact its a life-type. After reading absolutely everyone of those comments, i'm in awe at how ******* mentally retarded some believers are. The holocaust, the murdering of harmless childrens and teenagers, the discrimination against the disabled, homosexuals, females and the ******* bombing each ******* u . s . a . and sea of the international for this ******* GOD and their stupid RELIGIONs at the same time as killing hundreds of thousands of harmless civilians interior the technique, disgusts me. yet what disgusts me maximum is the shown fact that those ********* nonetheless attempt to ramble on approximately wish and faith. Your god is egocentric and unwell.

This is an emotional case, so naturally emotional rants will follow. I have to wonder why you are asking such a question when you do not think that God even exist. Maybe perhaps, if you eliminate the God excuse you have to blame humanity. Why aren't you asking why CPS wasn't called into protect this child? If they were why are the laws so lenient that a child can be returned to an abusive parent's custody if they give the courts a sob story.

Since you don't think there is a God, why would I explain anything to you that pertains to God? It is a mute point.

For what its worth (and I'm NOT trying to convince anyone to believe as I do, I am simply answering the question as stated), my only explanation is:
God gives us free will...to choose right or wrong.

Clearly, this despicable excuse for a human being and the pathetic piece of oyster-excrement she calls her husband were inexplicably unable to comprehend the horrendous violence they inflicted upon little, innocent two-year old Riley.

While I do not believe in a "hell", I can only hope that there is a special place reserved for the likes of the girl's mother (a title clearly not deserved for this wretched b*tch) or the husband.

On the other hand (as un-Godly a thought it would be) I would relish seeing these two sub-humans having their skin slowly peeled off and acid poured into their eyes, hot lead into their ears.

Being a father of a six-year old child (and having to temper my own anger at times), I still could not even imagine coming close to the mind-numbing horror these two vile creatures inflicted upon this innocent child.

A final thought:
People tend to shut their eyes and ears to events leading up to deaths like that of Riley.
Sadly, you can find more sympathy for animals than for children in the news.
It is only when events like this surface that we take notice.

It is our obligation to report any suspected child abuse.
We must be the ones to look out for the children.

Again - in my opinion - by watching out for the children, we can be doing God's work.

When Adam & Eve sinned against God, evil was brought into the world. At this point & time God's Kingdom is not on this earth. God does not like when this happens anymore than we do but God gave man free will and unfortunately these people are just plain evil and used that free will to do evil on an innocent child. She is in heaven though, if that is any consoluation

Hmm so you are saying this is God's fault?

Hmm ok let's think LOGICALLY about this.

Who were the ones who beat her and held her under water etc?

Now i dont want to hear....but God could have!

Who did those things to her?

You know the answer...and it isnt....But God!

It was...Trenor and Zeigler.

They are the ones who did it. They are the guilty ones.

Put the blame where it belongs.

Atheists you claim to be so smart and logical but yet you cannot figure that out?

Hypocrites.

We live in a sinful world, that was the decision on our parts when Adam and Eve Fell. We cannot blame God for the Sin that we choose to participate in. God is not a pupetmaster. He has given us the gift of Free Will and with that free will we can participate in some of the most beautifully meaningful things or we can participate in some of the most inhumane things that can be thought of. And even though you slander God's name and call him 'Your God' he's "Your God" as well even though you don't accept him. Just because you don't accept him doesn't mean he doesn't exist.
Praying for that little girl and her family!

A young woman was on drugs because she wanted to be and she had a gun in her house to protect herself;
she had two children and one was shot in the heart at the age of two and four months because the gun fell out of the daybed where it was kept and the baby sitter took the safety off, aimed it at the son and shot him in the heart and killed him;
who's to blame?
