Certain portains of duty is appointed by the county or in Louisiana the parish. Registar of voters. Federal jury duty chosen by the state

I'm not positive what your asking. But you can be called for jury duty for county, state or federal. They have your info from the secretary of state. That's how they get names and addresses to send out the questioniers. You can NOT get in trouble for not showing up for jury duty. They can't prove you got the letter. So all that about bench warrents and stuff is simply not true. The only thing is federal. If you get called for duty on a state, or federal, trial you will get a certified letter that you will have to sign for. If you don't show up for that one, you will have a warrent put out for your arrest. Hope this helps!!

There are different courts that can call you for jury duty. Most of the time it's county, but can also be federal.

Just got my jury duty notice today and it was signed by the sheriff of the county (Burke.) It is also for the same week my final semester exams start. Talk about timing.

they go by county like i live in lee county and lee county consist of a few cities.
