and now ive brought it to the uk to work on a normal tv. Ive got the scart thing where you plug the red yellow and white into, ive plugged that into the tv via scart. Ive then got the ps3 plugged into a transformer which is cutting out (ps3 is 60watt and we've had a 50watt one from usa(which didnt power the ps3 up just powered the red light lol) and then we've just bought a 100watt one which should work but this one cutts out after around 5mins. when the transformer is and its powering the ps3 for the short time it shows no picture? ive researched what might be wrong and got this from one of the sites:

have switch TV's sometimes too, heres what to do:

scroll down to the bit where its got points to do.
This didnt work and is alittle confusing so im not sure if im doing that bit right...
has anyone got a clue what i need to do???? and about the transfomer?do i just need one abit bigger than 100watts?

1). You'll need more powerful power supply. I own NTSC U/C (USA) PS3 in Europe too, but I use 500W power converter. I've got 60GB version and it needs at least 360W of power.
2). Make sure that your TV supports NTSC signal. Most of modern standard TVs support it (like mine), but if not - you'll need a NTSC->PAL converter (like this one http://www.merconnet.com/product_info.php?products_id=457&meRrid=baacbdb20ed49b7fef6b071e6133c1fb )

us ps3 is ntsc. you cant play it on a uk pal tv. its not worth buying consoles from america to bring back here, as they wont work!

the link you gave is for changing the settings to use it on a pc monitor. you have the wrong tv type so it really wont work!

Is your tv NTSC? The US PS3 is NTSC.

Can't use it on UKs PAL system.. You will have to buy an NTSC TV to use the US PS3.

Good luck!
