How many of each item of clothing (t-shirts, sweaters, pants, jeans, underwear, everything!) should my 6 year old daughter have.

Thanks :)

I'm only asking this to compare, there is no need to be rude.

Really depends on how often you do wash, and how much you want to hear about how everyone else has better (or more) clothes. Generally a weeks worth of socks and underwear but having a few extras for accidents which can happen be it soaked socks or something got spilled and they sat in it. And about a week and a half or 2 weeks of seasonally appropriate clothes just so they don't feel like they are always wearing the same thing.

I like to have at least 14 shirts and sweaters so that they don't wear the same thing but 2 times a month. Even at 6 kids at school can be so mean about each others clothes. Pants and Jeans at least 7 of these since it's harder to tell if they are the same ones or not. And as far as underware go... the more the better.

My rule is enough clothes to make it to laundry day. So 7shirts (both long and short sleeve), 7 bottoms, 7 underwear, 7 socks, 1 jacket , 1 coat, dress shoes and gym shoes. For a girl you may want to adapt it to say 4pants 4 skirts and 6 socks 1 tight. But this keeps closets neat and organized and cuts down on laundry. Tshirts get out of hand at my house b/c of sports, activities, etc but I go through once season and purge the ones that are old, stained or that I cant stand(meaning anything with cartoons on it).

i would say like a week and a half worths of clothing... atleast.. of course more if you are willing... A 6yr old doesnt need that much clothing as they are growing and will be out of the clothes by the next month or two... make sure she has atleast 2-3 nice pairs of clothes (dresses, skirts etc) and 3-4 pairs of "play clothes" that can get ruined or grass stains etc, and than of course school schools and shoes and etc... You will know if your child has enough clothes or not. But dont go blowing you money on clothes that she is going to outgrow in 2 months.... good luck

I used to be sure my kids had at least 8 - 10 of every type of daily clothing - underwear, socks, tops [ summer, and winter ], pants [ summer and winter ], pajamas.
And a coat, sweatshirt, and sweater; plus two pairs of shoes [sneakers and 'dress' leather ], as well as winter boots and summer sandals.
Girls would need dresses, and tights as well.
Oh, and two swimsuits!
My kids were not really interested in 'style' until about seventh grade. Now they have lots - but donate some every year!

Enough to keep her warm in the winter, and cool in the summer, whatever that takes.
