I don't want to do family photos or picture frames, I don't want to give her lotions or bath and body, absolutely no giftcards (she gets them all the time), no pampering at the spa (she's not into that)...I'm stuck! She's the last person to buy for and I have no clue.

I don't know if she's a mushy mom, but most moms appreciate being appreciated. I would either get her a fill in the blank memory book, or make her one yourself out of a journal and write the special things you remember her doing for you ie
when you broke your arm and she brought you to the hospital and then started to cry
or
when she punished you for being home after curfew and then loosened up and let you off the hook

Things that let her know how much you mean to her. Put in photos of you and the other kids, and make sure you write that she's the best mom ever.

It's going to take a lot of time, but those are the gifts that mean the most anyway!

No photos, frames, lotions, giftcards, spa...If that's the case, just ask her. I find it better to ask certain people what they want, instead of getting them something they may or may not like.

You can be kind and just let her talk, or you can ask your hubby to step in and "hush his momma up". Either way, you don't have to listen to her badgering. I wonder what electric company allowed her to have a bill for over a year of $1800 without turning off her power! Nobody in my city (Nashville) could get away with owing that much and not have to eat tuna by candlelight.!

how about writing her a letter with all that you have ever felt for her. tell her of the love she has given, all she has done for you. in the basic words of just "thank you".
being a mom myself, my daughter( who is now a mom of twin boys) did that for me and i was floored. i look at it often and just smile. do it on decorative paper, place it in a beautiful frame, nad you have made a gift that will never grow old and a gift that only gets better with age. and after her passing( hopefully will be many many years from now) you can a reminder, and a memory you can brag about.and mst of all you made your mama feel like that all she has done will never be in vein.

just an idea for you.

Instead of giving her a purchased gift, give her your time; show her that you still love her by doing things around the house that she usually does. Then to top it off, give her the sweetest, dearest, tear-jerking Hallmark card you can find. I'm certain this will make her day!

What about a magazine subscription? If she likes cooking and baking I recommend Cook's Illustrated or Cook's Country. Or what about National Geographic? It's full of beautiful photography and interesting articles.

Movie tickets or subscription to Netflix.

Take her out to dinner to her favorite place - not just a gift cert. but plan a night so you will be spending time together.

Deos she have cable? Could she use Tivo or the DVR option? Offer to pay that for her.

Does she read by chance? Go to the bookstore and look under the "comedy" section and check out "Uncle John's Bathroom Readers" -- seriously here -- they are awesome -- we have everyone of them. People go to the bathroom and they always want to borrow them --

Try www.redenvelope.com or www.uncommongoods.com. They have a lot of unique gifts and I find stuff there for people when I don't know where else to look. Hope this helps.
