Whats your opinion anyone who saw it? (if not its on youtube) Is it child abuse, and brainwashing, or are they doing the kids good?
What do you Christians think? Are you glad they are promotiong the religion in that way, or are they making all Christians look bad?

Yes, i found the harry potter quote v strange! Its just a story! And making children terrified of hell and guilty for doing things all kids do, and have to do in order to grow.
Also, she said, the muslims have got kids so dedicated they'll blow themselves up, I'd like to see some of our kids that dedicated! (Though I hope she didnt mean it the way it came out, it's disturbing either way).

While it was from a biased view, that doesn't mean the things they said and did weren't true. I thought it was sick and twisted. I think it's even worse that the people brainwashing these kids don't believe they are doing anything wrong. What a bunch of nuts. Harry Potter is evil? Come on, now.

I'm an athiest and think that the Jesus Camp documentary is absolutely terrifying, definately brainwashing those kids.
I used to be a Christian (out of choice, my parents aren't religious at all) and went to something similar for teenagers (called Soul Survivor) I found it was scary, especially the part where we were all asked to try and talk in tongues. Imagine over 1,000 teenagers in a tent, screaming and uttering odd languages. It seemed sinister to me, and I began to cry out of pure fear, which is totally out of character for me.
I'm not anti-religion, but indoctrinating children into religions is purely wrong in my opinion, people should choose what they believe after good thought, not brainwashed.

Okay, am I missing something? What are ya'll talking about? Is there are video or something on here?
I know I am confused.....pregnancy :-)
Edit:
Ok, I got it....I watched the trailer on Youtube and to be honest, I didn't see a whole lot wrong with it.
I do believe children should have freewill in God to worship Him. I know I am going to catch a lot of flack for this, but seeing kids worship Jesus like that is a blessing.
This is the generation that is going to have to save this country from Christianity being washed out.
The path we are on IS NOT the right one. All of our rights are being stripped away from us (Christians).
We do need to stand up and have a voice and I think that is what they are trying to teach these kids in this camp.
They are not indoctrinanting them, they are teaching them about Jesus, how is that brainwashing....geesh.
The Bible says "TRAIN up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
"Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD." Psalms 34:11
For TECH: By the way, How do you know they are not using scripture in this camp? Have you been there? You cannot judge that off the trailer. AND just for your information, I am Pentecostal and they DO use scripture in our camps. Thank you....
Anyway,
I don't think you can make assumptions from a trailer about the whole movie, because they cut and edit and put in the juicy and dramatic clips all together. Then, when you watch the movie it is all different.
Just my take on it.
We need to, as parents especially, be an example to our children and really instill in them the attributes of God, this world is only going to get worse.
OK, enough said.
God Bless you all.

To be honest. I was raised almost like them, religiously-wise. When I first saw the premiere of it , I got angry and started to feel almost bitter. It upset me. I wasn't mad or bitter about anyone or thing in particular.- I just felt those emotions.
Now when I look at it, I see great children, fantastic children whom are being naively told by well meaning people that their going to change the world and our special.
Is that 'wrong' or 'right'?
- I will not say, for I don't know. Nor do I care anymore.

I saw it and had a bit of post traumatic stress a few days afterward. I was raised that way, and thinking back as a now atheist adult I see it as abuse and brainwashing. There was a scene where a person is telling the kids to raise their hands if they love Jesus, and this woman leans over and yanks her kid's hand up in the air. That part got to me. Shiver.

From experience I can tell you that Jesus Camp is not fiction or even a rarity in Christian America. As a homeschooler, I have met these families. (Not all homeschoolers are like that!) There is a project called Generation Joshua that is teaching fundamentalist evangelical Christian kids to "Take back America". It is not alone.
I think it is a disgraceful disservice to those children. But, it is the prerogative of the parents and they feel it is good for the kids, so it is none of my business.

I haven't watched the video, but I am appalled when Christianity is forced down the throats of anyone, child or adult. Like all the worthless junk mail forced through the letterbox, people will consider the message of Jesus worthless, if they do not want to receive it.

There are those who call themselves Christian who are not.
Jesus said "You say you are a Jew, but are not."
God looks at the inside of us, and knows our hearts. He knows who His true followers are. If someone is abusing children, then I can guarantee they are NOT Christians. Jesus said," If anyone causes one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better if he tied a millstone around his neck and cast himself into the sea."
Lots of things are done in the name of God. It doesn't mean they are right, and it doesn't mean those who are doing them belong to Him. God Bless

They make all true Christians look bad, and that is not good. In 1 Cor 14 God warns Christians against actiivities which make people think you have gone "mad". It admonishes us to do all things decently and in order because God is not a God of confusion.

I think Jesus camp sounds nice, but I don't know if this particular camp is completely reliable...
Its not about the religion, its about the relationship.
You can expect a truckload of non-Christians to say its brainwashing anyway...
