2 nights ago I was just sitting and thinking about life. I just felt like something was missing and I guess you could say I started to pray and ask God for help. I did not grow up all religious or anything but do believe there has got to be a God. Iv'e heard people say Jesus is God so I talked to him. When I started talking this peace or love like I never felt before started to do something in me. I feel like a different person. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone on here? I started to read the Bible and I can't put it down. I tried to read it before but gave up everytime. Even as I am typing I feel a joy that I can't explain. What the heck is happening? I mean, I like what's happening but could someone help explain.

Everyone who has been born again has felt this connection with God when we first accept him. The bible calls it "Joy, unspeakable and full of glory".....you are being drawn by the Holy Spirit,,because you reached out in belief...keep reading your bible and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you...

You are on the verge of knowing the most wondrous thing in the world..that God loves you and that you can have a personal relationship with him...repent from any sin you know you are doing, and find a good church so you can learn more and more about Jesus....you will in time, want to get baptized in Jesus name,,,,continue to talk to Jesus and read your bible..I suggest you read the Gospel of John and the book of Acts...both a good start....

Congratulations...you know something that all those educated scientists do not know...That God is real and he loves you and wants to make you his own..Your Heavenly Father loves you. Isn't that awesome?

It is what is called a placebo effect . That is similar when a person in pain takes a sugar pill and the pain goes away because they think ( believe ) they have found something to help .
You say something is missing from your life . Figure out what it is . Is it friendships ? Romantic relationships ? Sexual relationships ? A healthy lifestyle ( exercize and good food ) , medical attention ( do you feel 'under the weather' a lot ?) , ???? Find the cause of what is missing and take care of that . Do not substitute a suger pill ( like the Bible) , or even a real pain killer like alcohol . These will only let you down and keep you from getting the real solutions .

Sugarcreek34 – The Bible speaks of being “born again” as something that happens in your life when you invite God in. (John 3) Jesus used the example of the wind to describe it… the wind comes and goes… it blows where it will… but you never actually see it. You see its effects and you know it’s real through what it does. Trees sway, leaves blow, papers swirl… these are all evidences that that which you cannot see is real. So it is with the Holy Spirit of God. You cannot see Him but you know He is real by the effects in your life. What you are experiencing is NOT something the eminates from within you… it is a response within you to the presence of God’s Holy Spirit entering your life and giving life to the spirit within you. You are a new creation in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any person be in Christ, they are a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

It looks like you're an atheist, anyway, what's happening to you is that your nature KNOWS that there ONE GOD to this universe who Has created it and keeping it there.

I suggest that you consider reading Quran as well, you may read this and forget all about my answer, but ask yourself right now "What will I lose if I read Quran as well and give myself the opportunity to decide where the truth is?" I think you won't lose anything, on the contrary, you may be winner, and I'm sure you'll be IF you give yourself the opportunity to use your mind and heart and let them judge without any fanaticism.

Congratulations to you. I think that you have found your path, so just try and do your best to stay on it. When you begin to feel sad and/or disconnected, take inventory of your life and see what might be going on that goes against your joy. That feeling of unexplainable joy is the true energy of your creator. Try not to fear yourself or how you feel because fear is the opposite of love. Trust that you will be taken care of and make it a daily goal to stay connected. I wish you many blessings on your path.

I think it's that you're tapping into faith. It is said that God is love, and I think you're seeing that for yourself, now.

Re the Bible--Take care not to read it too literally. More important than the Bible is that you go out and treat others with respect and and with the love you feel from God.

Best wishes!

Everything happens.
So only watch it.
Be this love.
Maybe you must not explain...
It´s a nice feeling, isn´t it!
So.
If reading the Bible happens, read.
If reading the Bible stops, stop.
Where is the problem.
Be the watcher.
And enjoy.

Isn't it wonderful? Physiological effects are only the hardware, but the software is connecting with God. Go with your feelings. Don't let someone who has never had the beautiful experience you are having have any bearing on your perceptions. For God is surely with you. Let His Light continue to shine upon you. God came to me too when I least expected it and has never left.

Depends on who you ask - ask an Atheist and they'll attribute it to subconscious desire for belief in God. Ask a Christian and they'll say that the Holy Spirit has testified to you. Ask a Muslim and they'll say that Satan has misled you.

I'm glad you found what makes you happy. If its good for you, and does no harm, then by all means keep going! But, remember where you came from and resist the temptation to judge others for the things you used to do.
