Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. Work with the Recruiter on this though, as you may have some difficulty getting into the MP program....though this largely depends on the needs of the military....no matter what anyone says!
When I was in, I knew an MP with a drug record, yet there were guys in my Infantry Unit that had minor violations, such as your's, but they couldn't get into the MP program. So it mainly depends on the needs of the Branch you are seeking. I wouldn't waste my time with the MPs. If you want something along the lines of SWAT, you may wanna look into Security Forces.

Yes as long as you do not commit a felony you can join. almost everyone in the army was or has been arrested. Soldiers are arrested every weekend for stuff so shop lifting is not that bad. If you do it in the military you pay for that item, do not get to keep it and will lose rank and pay. They will not kick you out of the military for shoplifting.

Just because you commited the crime as a juvinille doesn't mean that won't come up in your background check. I cannot say for sure one way or the other, but I believe that as long as you paid all your fines then you can enlist. This includes factors that there are no pending charges or court hearings. You should be able to join.

you will most likely be able to enlist. HOWEVER. no such thing as sealed/expunged or shredded. all that means is the average public person can't access the record. the Federal government CAN.
it may or may not disqualify you from MP.

Yes, you can. But the notion of them shredding your files is wrong, they become sealed, But if the military wanted to look they have that right. Don't try to mislead them. Be honest and upfront. Good Luck!

I dont know the age limit for youthful offender status. You were not charged with a felony, and I would inquire with the DAs office if your records were shredded. The military will probably ask you if you have ever been arrested, but I think you will be OK. Good luck.

You are going to need a waiver - and it will likely be difficult for you to get MP (or any MOS that requires a security clearance).

I'm sorry, but I just can't help being reminded of the following words from Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant":
"I mean I'm sittin here on the Group W bench
'cause you want to know if I'm moral enough join the army, burn women, kids, houses and villages after bein' a litterbug."

Yes, it shouldn't be a problem. They can get a waiver for that beside the file should be sealed
