Ann Coulter is the most vicious right-wing s**t-slinger I've ever seen in over 50 years on the planet. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she turned out to be a left-wing plant under deep cover being used to reveal how rotten the right wing really is. If this were true I would be somewhat relieved but still ambiguous about whether to support a campaign based on such sheer venom and hatred.

While I'm not really a fan of hers (a year ago I was more political, but now that my religious views have changed, so have some of my politics as well) she does serve the purpose of giving the other side of the issue. Same with Michael Savage and Rick Roberts. It seems most of the media is swamped with the views of the left, so it is refreshing to hear from views on the right (Rick Roberts probably being the fairest of these three).

I personally think she is far to the right, but she is playing a lot of it just for the attention. I mean, I think some of the stuff she says is too extreme even for someone on the far right. And it is shocking, just to keep people buying those books.
Lover her or hate her, she has your attention, and for someone in the media, that is success.

Personally I think her rhetoric is idiotic. But there is method to her madness. She is willing to cheapen herself because she thinks she can get attention. She wants to make herself important even for all the wrong reasons. Her views are so idiotic, I am not sure that even she believes what she's saying.

I've often wondered if she is really a performance artist, or maybe a liberal mole bent on humiliating the conservative right. Anything is easier than believing that she takes herself seriously. I mean....no one is that big a bunghole, right?
