Hello I'm in the Navy. I passed everything in MEPs.

I havent went to boot camp yet.

but ok now I have something called a Left varicocele(not painfull) kinda more noticeable than when the first MEPs doctor checked me out.

When I go to MEPs again to sign my Active duty contract do you think the medical staff will say anything when they check me again. could I be Discarged for that? is their a waiver for that? If you know anything more about this that I should know please tell me.

Thanks Have a fine navy day.

you are going to have to get a doctors note most likely to see if this is associated with testicular atrophy or if the varicocele is larger than the testis.

desertviking: good job looking up the AR but as im sure your aware, all MEPS are regulated by DoD therefore the AR would be secondary to the medical instruction listed below.

A left varicocele is only disqualifying if it is symptomatic, associated with testicular atrophy or is larger than the testis. A right varicocele is always disqualifying.

After you have gone through MEPS you should be medically cleared. Good luck, shipmate.

While it probably will not disqualify you for enlistment, you should probably let them know about it to avoid any problems in the future. If they let you in and you hide it from them you will have problems later on with getting medical treatment.
