Two definitely!! Especially siblings- they will be the best of friends. I believe every pet should have a 'pet.' It gives them company during the day while you are gone (some cats can get very upset home alone all day), they exercise and entertain each other, they are each a reminder of their kitten-hood with mom :), and it just make for happier kitties. It will be easy to get the two from the same litter- they know each other already! Getting two separate ones now, or down the road, makes for a tough decision since you won't know whether they will get along. Contrary to belief, cats can be very social creatures, and having a permanent buddy is definitely a good thing. They can also get very, very bored at home all by themselves- which may (or may not) lead to destructive behavior and potentially unhealthy cats. And also, if they have a playmate all day- they won't "bother" you (as much :)) all night! It will also teach them proper social behaior, and it will make the transition to a new place from the only place they've ever know that much easier.
So, I would really recommend getting two. But please get them spayed/ neutered- not only for their health, but I've actually heard that people believe siblings won't mate- but they do (if you get two of the same kind, obviously not a problem)!
Two!! No doubt about it- they will be so happy.

Whether they want to be the only cat, depends upon their personality. Years ago I had two kittens from the same litter and as they grew up, they had as little to do with each other as possible. The two cats that I have now, are not related but they get on well together.
Cats do spend an awful lot of the daytime sleeping and it's during the evening and night that they are more active. So a cat will be fine alone during the day as long as they have your company in the evenings.

I was told by a cat behaviorist at the Humane Society that two males get along the best or one female and male and least likely are two females that would get along. Find out which ones play together and sleep with each other the best. Personality make a difference too but it is hard to tell in kittens what they will be like. I'm sure what ever you get it should work out since they will be growing up together. Good luck!

Kittens especially like company and if they're from the same litter, as you say, they will love each other's company even more. It really is better to get two kittens because they won't get as lonely when you're away and they're less likely to get in trouble. It may be more work with two, but it's definitely worthwhile. I would say get two kittens...especially if they are going to be strictly indoor cats.
Good luck with them! There's never a dull moment with cats!

Getting 2 cats from same litter is a great idea 2 of same sex is good or brother and sister is fine as long as you get them neutered. My 2 cats are brothers and indoor cats and they love cuddling up together when I'm at work. Please do not even consider getting them de-clawed it is very cruel, just make sure you have a good cat scratcher or 2 around so they can pluck at them rather then your furniture.

Yup, get 2 kittens. They will keep each other company. Young kittens are much better being homed in pairs and will be much less likely to develop behavioral problem. It will be easiest if you get them from the same litter as they will already be well used to each other.
Just make sure if you get a brother and sister that you get them neutered early to be on the safe side.

if you have the time space and most importantly the money for 2 get two. if you can only afford one that should be alright too. just remember double the food, double the litter double the vet bills.
I would highly recommend getting two they will keep each other occupied while you are gone. but money is a big issue too.
Thank you for being a responsible cat owner and keeping them as indoor cats.
if you get 2 it is safest to get them from the same litter, they will usually get along with out a problem, but just see who picks you out at the shelter and go from there. happy adopting!

We have brother and sister cats, and they do keep each other company and play with each other. The male cat however is an outdoor cat and the girl is an indoor cat. Id recommend gettin to sisters, lads seem to be more curious about the outdoors!

Cats love company but do not get a brother and sister or you will end up with kittens. Why do you want pets when you are out all day long. Is this fair on the animals? Please think carefully before you get them.
