just because they don't like the answer? The answer does not qualify under any of the other restrictions, so a polite well-written answer gets bounced by Yahoo because somebody claims it is not an answer. How can any answer NOT be an answer? That is ridiculous. Shouldn't Yahoo delete this potential objection because it is being misused to delete perfectly legitmate answers?

I assume that you mean "report" by "block". Many people seem to be a bit report happy, but keep challenging the violations and hopefully a better system will surface.
Blocking is when you close your questions and answers to another user or users. To me, this is a sign of a very closed mind.

don't take blocking personally; put things in perspective; everyone has a right to associate with whomever they choose; this is YA not life ; you are letting this into you and that is not what this forum is about ; it is questions and answers ; you can only control you as hard as that may be

Abuse that and your reports won't be taken seriously. I appeal every violation notice and almost always win.
If I said, "Thanks for the 2 points!", that's not an answer, unless the question was something like, "Would you like 2 points."
The test they use on appeals was intent to provide information in response to the question.
