E train to jamaica station then you can take Air Train or you can take the A train to Howard Beach Beach JFK air port...You can go to times square and walk to the A or E train....You would need to follow the signs also there are different A trains so just make sure you get on the correct A train or you will end up at Ozone Park Lefferts Blvd which if that happens you can take the Q10 bus to JFK....Also you can take the 4 train from Grand Central to 125th Street and take the M60 bus to JFK...also you can take a cab its a flat rate around 45 dollars plus tolls and a tip...

Three step process
1) Find the # 7 subway -Take it towards Flushing.
get off at 61st st Woodside $2.00 *
2) Go down to the next platform and catch the LIRR [Long Island Railroad] to Jamaica.Your train will be on the same platform as the ticket office and you need to buy your ticket [$5.00 ] at the ticket office either in person or at the vending machines bc the LIRR will charge you a stiff penalty for buying a ticket on the train.
3) At Jamaica go up stairs and catch the AirTrain to JFK $5.00
If you hit everthing just right you can actually do that trip in 35 minutes -if not allow a maximum of 1 hr.
* If you take the train with the "7 " inside of a diamond rather than a circle you can make Woodside in two stops rather than like 10 stops

Take an UPTOWN (Queens-bound) E train to the Sutphin Blvd-JFK station. Trip should take about 40 minutes. At Sutphin Blvd take the escalator or elevator up to the mezzanine. Exit thru the turnstiles. Go toward the escalators but make a right just before the escalators and take an elevators up to the top level (LIRR waiting area). On that level walk across to the other side and go thru the doors. Make a right and walk to the AirTrain turnstiles. Purchase a $5.00 AirTrain MetroCard from the vending machine, insert the card into the turnstile (It will be returned to you). The turnstile will open and you can proceed to the AirTrain. Get off the AirTrain at the appropriate station in JFK for your airline. HINT You can save time at the AirTrain turnstile by buying a MetroCard for $7.25 before you board the subway. Just use the Buy a New Card and "Other Amount" options on the screen (on the "other amount" screen enter $7.25). The subway turnstile will deduct $2.25 leaving the remaining $5.00 for the AirTrain turnstile. Have a good flight.
