Most definately. Actually, I would be surprised if the doctors in question would continue with treatment if the patient did not sign the informed consent form - that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Legalities aside, what a person does with their body (or doesn't do) is their decision and no one else's. As long as they are fully informed of the consquences of their in/actions, it is, and should remain, the decision of the patient.

Actually, if you are an adult, you do have that right. In fact, many people with heart disease and cancer as well as other ailments refuse treatment that is life sustaining. Comfort care is all they ask for.

Yes the decision should be made by the person who is sick. This will be very painful for family members but the decision should be what that person wants.
