well because she was out side all summer she was never taught how to behave inside, you should work on obedience training with her to build up your bond. Leave plenty of chew toys for her like kongs and busybones. You can try gating off the kitchen or any room and leave her in there.

If you knew what she would chew on.....I'd spray it with a special spray they sell at any pet store.
If you're only gone for like half an hour or a small amound I'd put a muzzle on her when you go to leave for a week straight and try one day without a muzzle and do that pattern until she gets the idea. You don't want to do that for a long period of time b/c she'll need to eat.
If it gets too bad, I'd buy a cage or a babygate and put her in the cage or seal her off in the utility room or any room that has hardwood floor/tile/linoleom. That way it lessens the damage and on a floor that's easier to clean up.

Either you will have to crate her or gate her in a room or train her. Always leave plenty of chew toys out for her when you leave and pick up all things that she is not suppose to have.
I have heard that this works. (seen it on Good Dog U) It will take several weeks. Leave for just a couple of minutes at first. Do that for a few days several times a day. Increase the time you are gone. Every time you come back in and there is nothing chewed, praise, praise, praise! At the end of of 3 weeks, you should be able to leave her without her chewing. Make sure you leave out her chew toys.

Easy keep her in a gated area while you gone. something like a kitchen. Doggy doors that give him/her entrance and outings to go potty is a great idea.
But to keep off chewing on your furniture do not let it run free through the house. I keep my pets in the kitchen. Have 8 year old Poodle and a puppy 5 month old Chihuahua. Also keep plenty of chewing toys arround her/him including chewing bones. They grow out of it.

Put your dog in a kennel while you're out of the house. Make sure she has a blanket or towel, something soft to cuddle up with. Let her have a couple of toys to chew on. It will take her a bit to get used to the kennel but when she does get used to it, she'll think of it as her "comfort place".

I crate any dogs who are not trustworthy in the house. At the moment, that means the 3 pups who are not quite a year old.

train her not to by prohibiting her from chewing.. a proper sized crate for her with an appropriate chew bone during the day will mold the behavior you want..... keep the crate in your room or in a accessible place for the dog

the dog is just teething, which means he has to chew on something a good idea would be to get him a toy like a ball or something to chew on. Even those fake bones are quite effective.

You need to get her a kennel. They are a god send. There is no way I would leave my dog home alone if he wasn't in his kennel, he would redecorate my house!! =] Just make sure that if you do get a kennel you don't leave her in it alone for too long. Get her some fun toys to entertain her while you are gone, kongs are really good.
