Like before he sent Him, his views were very.. i don't know the right word. They were honest and... i dont know. just Honest. Like, he said any kid that disrespect their parents, get killed. After that, God showed love and changed his point of view of things? I hope this makes sense..

You have had 19 answers before mine, if any of them rang a bell of recognition for you please pick them as your best answer, however if not, understand that God doesn't change, we do. We are the works in progress. Thru Jesus even the unjewish can find salvation. That his son lived a perfect life according to his fathers rules opens our options, nt Gods. Honestly when we live as close to his rules we share in the power of Jesus by proclaiming his name to all and sundry. That it didn't happen before didn't kill the souls, it just made them uncounsious and now we are counsious through Jesus.

His plan didn't change.

Mosaic Law pointed up sin, showed that humans could not perfectly keep it, and also showed that he would indeed put to death willful sinners even if they claimed to serve him. (Acts 5:1-11)

But Jesus' ransom sacrfice as the Messiah/Christ (Luke 1:41, Matt. 20:28, John 3:16, etc) gave the opportunity for forgiveness and a chance to learn.

He died for the whole world, not just the heavenly class. 1 John 2:22....so the rest of the dead can come back to life on earth and learn about him and his requirements. Revelation 20:5, Matthew 5:5, Rev. 20:13, 14....including all the dead in the grave/hell.

Um he didn't. His plan all along was to send Jesus.

EDITed after 5 of the thumbs up... this may change their rating..... sorry:

In the old testament the Holy Spirit had not been sent to internally convict people of their sins. The rules had to be harsh so they understood the depth of their sins. If sin were allowed to run rampant inside the community, it would have destroyed Jesus bloodline. It had to be kept from rampant sin so the savior could be born into a family that acted in a way that was consistent with God's rules. ( He needed to be raised by someone who would not teach him to sin)

God hasn't changed. We (Christians) are just convicted in a different way now. The Holy Spirit makes us feel badly when we do things against what God wants.

It is like, when you have little children....sometimes they need to be spanked to understand something is wrong. However, when they get older and have more of an internal compass, they are able to be reasoned with and physical spankings are not needed.... a Verbal spanking will do. (The holy spirit is our internal compass or director)

there are no flaws in the bible. there are different accounts that were taken by the different writers, so each author his own interpretation. Just like when you turn on the tv and see the news from cbs and then turn the channel and see the news from fox there are similarities yet there are differences too. to say that there are flaws without taking into account the text-us receptus you are choosing to be un in lightened mis-informed and ignorant of the gospel. If you want to be in-lightened and show off all your smarts take a look at the book of mormon and see how many flaws there are in that. Not trying to bash, but in Alms a book in the mormon bible, it states that Jesus was born in Jeruselum, yet any person who lives in Isreal or reads the bible can easly state that Jesus was born in Bethlehem

Bible says that God planned to come from the beginning. No change of plan there. But maybe you are referring to a very human thing : Like when you say 'If my daughter picks up her toys, I'll take her out for an ice cream, and if not, I'll just bide my time.' That is a definite plan but one contingent totally on the action of the person in question. Does that answer your question ?
At any rate, be assured no Catholic Doctor or Father of the Church would hold that God is not omniscient.

He didn't. If you look at Genesis 3:15 right after he passed sentence on Adam & Eve, he said he there would be be a seed that would bruise the see of the serpent in the head (a death dealing blow). That role, if you follow the Bible's theme, primarily fell to Jesus Christ himself. However, until Jesus' arrival as the Messiah, he left his followers a code to follow. The Mosaic Law. That is why it is Paul referred to it as "a tutor leading to Christ"

Mankind broke the 'Old covenant' (that's contract) between God and man. Jesus was sent to create the 'New Covenant' (new contract).

Because mankind couldn't stick to the old contract, the new contract was designed to make it easier for people to follow.
Imagine you're drowning in the ocean and somebody throws you a life preserver. If you don't take it, then you drown.

Dear Brother I would share something with you on salvation >
Why must the requirement of justice be satisfied by grave injustice, the suffering and agony of the innocent Jesus? Would this gross injustice, if it were true? Be consistent with the quality of divine love? How appropriate is it for a Judge, who instead of sentencing a criminal or forgiving him, which is within his authority, to order the execution of his only son so that the criminal will go free and appreciate how much the Judge loves him?

29. peaceall
God is both just and Merciful. But since He created humankind and knows its weaknesses, He does not require bloodshed to forgive. One who sincerely repents and inculcated a relationship of love for god, and obedience and submission to Him. Can be assured of Gods loving forgiveness.

God didn't and Jesus wasn't. It's as simple as that....that billions have bought into this tall tale over the centuries is a testament to general lack of reason, not to divine truth.
