I just started doing indoor track for my school (im doing shotput but we have to do tons of running too). Im wondering how much weight I could lose a week by doing the two hour a day practices(on the weekdays) and eating properly?

You will not lose more than 2 to 3 pounds of fat per week. Any other loss is water or muscle mass. So working out will build muscle mass and any water loss will come back as soon as you rehydrate your body.
Proper diet: fruits and veggies, raw, steamed or sauteed
no meat or limited meat, no dairy, nothing white, no fast food, no processed foorda, and lots of water and exercise.

how long is a piece of string?

`they` say its healthy to lose a maximum of 2kg or weight a week. try to achieve no more than that because, chances are, you've be loosing bit of your body you don't want to loose...water, muscle, bone mass etc.

you've be doing very well to achive that though.
most people take years to get fit doing everything in a rush the wrong way. learn from there mistakes and take the small goal approach.

and if I were you I'd take a sledg hammer to the scales.
instead do the plank exercise
http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises_10.htm

every day (on waking or before sleeping maybe) and add 1 second. remember to suck in hard and exhale all the air out of your lungs before breathing in again.

maybe you can only do if for 5 seconds now but hey...you'll get better.
what's important about the plank is that its a body weight to strength ratio exercise that accounts for your muscle mass.
being lighter makes it easier
being stronger makes it easier
being fitter make it easier

so in short...get better at the plank and get a whole lot more than scale validation. + get a tight stomache.

some people have weaker shoulders in relation to the core muscles that the plank is designed to target. so if this is the case, the shoulders are where you're going to feel this...but since you'll hope to be holding this exercise for a long period of time it's targeting the endurance muscles and therefor not going to bulk up your shoulders, so don't worry.

there are very few fat people that can do the plank for 3 minutes so my advice is that a 3 minute plank should be your 2008 - 2009 target. not a weight reading.
