Go for it. Most internet businesses are not capital intensive so you should be able to give it a try without risking much.

It's so difficult to create a successful internet buisness these days. When I started up my first web page about ten years ago, I had 30,000 hit's a day and didn't sell one copy of my program, but my site was unprofessional looking. These days there are so many websites which have been up for quite a few years, getting a webpage into high ranks on search engines is alot of work. You need to establish a presence by creating something that is truly interesting to readers so that people will link to you, or pay big bucks to have sponsered links in google.

Yes, two of them. But of course the very first step is having a very good grasp on exactly what you want to do and how you are going to do it.
Strating a business online is no different from any other usiness in the respect that the business model comes first, before you decide how you will implement it. Good Luck.

Yes, I've had, and have quite a few.

You can't just "start an internet business". You need to know what your business is trying to do. My suggestion is to start selling on Ebay.

I run a bookstore which i started ground up. My biggest problem is coming up with enough sales to pay for promoting the site (the web is a vast place, and your site can get overlooked unless you promote it. Yahoo can get it going for about 3 thousand dollars. What i've been told is you need a niche to make your site worth visiting. mine is rare books at bargain prices. Be sure to get the required licenses which vary from state to state.

It's really really difficult to do with just advertisements and affiliate marketing. Find some stock and start an ebay store.
