even when Bettie said sleep paralysis near the top , still some went on to say that it was demons and evil spirits

I actually believed all this at one time. My demon went away when I sought medical help and spent a year on medications. Leaving the only religion I had ever known sealed the deal and I was then able to give up the meds too.

First let me say that everyone has a right to their own perceptions, opinions and experience. I give everyone that right, and hope they can do the same for me.
My experience with demons is from being the mate of a black magickian for many years. A REAL one, a highly advanced one, not some teenager playing games. Someone can laugh all they want at that idea.
I have lived through it.
Through my experiences with him, "demons" are real. At least some really negative energy forms. However, if someone exudes positive energy and doesn't tick off the wrong person, maybe that is enough to keep them away. But it doesn't mean they don't exist.

Daemons are real but usually they stay in the dream world/subconscious. Satan wants people to think they're all made up, so come Armageddon the 72 "virgins" will suddenly take everyone by surprise when they turn out to be daemons. The Key of Solomon has their true identities as well as their abilities and habits. Its interesting tho cuz recently I had a dream about Belial who is basically a gay Jesus. He has freckles and red hair, Muhammad describes him to a T in Quran chapter 17 when he says "Jesus" came out of a bathroom looking embarrassed and suspicious. They didn't really interact much or it would have become obvious that "Jesus" was way too obsessed with young boys. But whats really bizarre is a friend of mine had a dream about Baal, and it sounded a lot scarier. Apparently he looks like some villain off of Spawn and he scares the **** out of you, then convinces you that he has greater power than Lord JAH. Similar to how Ahriman likes to do it. He seems to be closely associated with Molech the owl, and apparently both are worshipped by Freemasons and Illuminatis in the US. Anyway, daemons are usually stupid and easily outsmartable according to both the Bible and the Avesta.

Sometimes words are mis-interpreted, and what you think a person means or what they think you mean is lost in translation.

Look at the world of symbols. If you show a group of people a symbol, it will be seen in different ways. Show the same group the same symbol a period of time later and they may see something entirely different in it.

Symbols have no emotive in them, so are a good language/understanding "crossed"
Symbols are free to be interpretated as seen, and are a deeper way to the unconscious.
The person asked, then will have revealed to self, what the erroneous thinking is.

A picture of said "demon" will bring forth a myriad of underlining connotations, and is a more true source of seeing what is within the being.

i've had many supernatural experiences that i couldn't explain in any other way besides some non physical force. some of them i have shared with other people so i know i'm not delusional. i know in science, and i think most of all so called "demon encounters" are just mentally ill people either having hallucinations or just seeking attention. but some things i have encountered i could just say it was the wind, or i'm tired or something. i believe in non human entities but i think most conventional religious believes in demons (which just means spirit) are used to control people through fear. keep an open mind. try dabbling in the occult. try calling some up and see what happens. i know when i did things got weird, often cool, and sometimes mind blowing.

"My dear, your science can not even explain a simple thought, yet you think you can unlock all the mysteries of the universe with your medical research papers etc. Did you know that less than 100 years ago, your medical research papers prescribed leaches?"

The word "scientist" was used very lightly back then. Science doesn't claim to know all the mysteries - it's the search for it.

Did you know up to today, religious nuts still cause the most suffering killing and oppression in the world? If you're going to compare "who's more ignorant - scientists or religious aholes" prepare to lose about a trillion to 37

They both exist - mental illness and demonic possession/oppression. The man in Scripture who lived in the graveyard and couldn't be restrained, whom Jesus set free and said "these can only be cast out by prayer and fasting", that man might be mistaken today as a schizophrenic, but his problem was spiritual. I've been to many churches who tried to "cast out" my mental illness, obviously unsuccessful in anything but making me think I was intrinsically evil and totally without hope - medication and therapy keep me functional and, in a way, allow me to accept the love of God. A side pain can be caused by appendicitis, gas, or an ovarian cyst (in a woman). They all present with the same symptoms, but have different causes and different remedies. I'm beginning to think I should change my username to "longwindedone"...

Who causes sleep paralysis?
Many will not understand this ALL SICKNESS IS FROM DEMONS.

Sleep paralysis is the medical term. Demons are behind it.
There are only two forces in this world: God's and Satan's
Sickness came in this world because of sin. Sin is of the devil. One of the reasons we do not see miracles like we use to is most don't understand what they are dealing with when praying for the sick. When you curse that foul spirit in the name of Jesus and cast him away he has to go and the sickness with him.

We live in a physical world. Medications have an effect on our human body's. That does not mean sickness is not demonic. Medication can affect the physical body. Medication treats the symtoms. Spirit's whether they are of God or Satan can not operate on us unless they are working in/on our flesh (physical). Demon cause some to do evil things and some they cause illness. The Holy Ghost causes Christians to do the things that are of God.

Satan the thief comes not but to steal kill and destroy.

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Mental illness is a strange thing. Hallucinations, obsessions, and delusions can make people believe in a lot of really weird stuff. Religion can really add fuel to the fire. When the hallucinations of a mentally ill person roughly coincide with the religious beliefs of some group, it can really cause the person to go over the edge in a big way.

A good-sized group of people and religious texts that provide validating feedback to a mentally ill person can greatly exacerbate the illness.

I strongly suspect that mental illnesses of various sorts have given rise to a lot of religious beliefs. It really isn't too surprising that people would begin to believe in evil spirits and curses when they are experiencing hallucinations that seem to be showing them a demonic reality.

Sugar, I got SLEEP PARALYSIS! I may have done things in the past that did not please God, but I highly doubt I was filled with demons.
I had (used to have) clinical depression. It was not as a result of having demons.
Man, please! I'm sure there were people back in the biblical days who had illness and stuff and had not an ounce of demons in them! Look at St. John's father. He was made mute for awhile until John was born. But he had no demons in him; he just simply did not believe what the angel told him.

It's not to say demons no longer exists, but I don't think it's like the biblical days. Even the righteous get struck with stuff.
