ibushido, I am an atheist. I happen to believe that on certain issues my thinking is more in line with Fundies, and that moderates disagree with us. Evolution is one. We agree that evolution tends to disprove the existence of a god, whereas moderates can believe in both, a position both atheists and fundies do not understand. From my point of view, if God was watching evolution for billions of years, then decided to give man a soul and a chance at heaven, how did he pick the first one? There would have to have been a first person, whose parents didn't have souls. Or did he do it all at once for everybody. I don't see a rational explanation. I think fundies agree with me on this point. I can understand their position better, even though I disagree with it. All or nothing, no half measures!

That the Bible disagrees with evolution.

That is the only one I know of. We both see the moderates as taking a position that is contrary to Genesis. I'm fine with it, except that so many of them then deny that is what they are doing.

Are you trying to compare atheists and fundamentalists? That's funny...get a clue.

The problem is you're trying to reconcile a fairy tale with science/reality. That's the problem, there is no reason to hypothesize about gods and souls because there is no logical reason to believe in them.

I love to eat. I'm sure there are some atheists who would join this fundie for some marinated Porterhouse steaks, baby asparagus, homemade apple crumb cobbler, and sweet peach iced tea! Yee haw!!!!

I'm not sure about specific issues, but there's often a strong leave-us-alone libertarian streak in both groups.
